Nice to read about people who are socially connected. I’m afraid your book is not for me.
    Good on you anyway.
I have a highly responsible job. 2 failed marriages and a million failed relationships and have come to the conclusion I do not fit in with the human race (maybe I’m a Martian?).
After living in Sydney all my life I don’t have a friend. I drink on my own every night - I also take Subutex to counter an over the counter Codeine addiction.
I figure if I die, my kids would be getting about $500,000 each. Mmmmm……………………
I survive, that’s all. Psychs are an absolute joke who try to fit you in to boxes, which, to give them their due, probably does work for some - like CBT. Not for me though.
Any assistance with agoraphobia etc.? On the surface I am so respectable (I am currently a foreman on a jury for eight weeks - sorry, it’s not foreperson, it’s foreman in the legal system down here).
I am so lonely (”I could die”, couldn’t help the joke!).
I was in therapy for two years and know WHY I am like this, but so what? I can’t even get the courage to walk across the street to go to the shop without valium/booze/bupe etc.
Nice to know you have a nice life and nice friends who care etc.
I’ve tried everything and for some people there is no answer I can figure?
And they wonder why people commit suicide? It’s not brain surgery (another joke, however in poor taste). Wish I could EM Brenda et al. - sounds great to have friends - I just want to sleep forever.

Greg, you sound like a wonderful guy but clinically depressed. Have you tried anti-depressants? They can really help. Please don’t give up. Visit us on the message board, okay? We have lots of wonderful Aussies, there, too. Promise me you’ll drop by.

p.s.: You’re kids don’t want your money, they want you. I’ve been following research about new treatments in the US for both agoraphobia and Codeine addiction, have you heard of them? We’ll find a doc there to do it. Email me on our message board, we’ll connect. -RJ
