Sounds like to are strapping on your armour, and are ready for the fight. Good for you. Withdrawal is different for everyone. For people like me, with a serious physical dependence on alcohol, detox can be dangerous. I had to see a doctor and get Ativan, which is a benzodiazepine. I did detox at home, but I had to take the medication for 4-5 days, then I tapered off. It is good that u were able to share your struggle with those close to you. It really is helpful if u can get support from your loved ones. Believe me, No one in my family wants me drinking.lol. I wish u well as you begin this wonderful, life-saving journey. Stick around.
