I have been taking Naltrexone since July 2nd. I take it every day but I think you could take it on an as-needed basis. I take 50 mg/day each afternoon. it takes about 30 minutes to kick in. It lessens the alcohol cravings and also curbs your appetite. You will be able to drink but will be less likely to over do it. I have been able to drink a 6-pack while taking it but that is about half of what I would normally drink if I was out partying.
