Default July 6 daily

Well here is a first, OK, I'll start it out.
Good morning all, sorry it’s been so long since I last checked in. Summer at our house is beyond busy. I came home from work late, late last night…the all were asleep. I got on the site and back read as much as I could until eyes would no longer cooperate. Funny, last summer I would have come home at 3:00am and drank a bottle of wine, a gin and T and passed out. The morning would be tired and fuzzy. I would be short with my kids and hubby and feel guilty about it later. Today I woke nicely at 8:00 after 4 ½ hours of sleep and feeling darn good a might add. Helped hubby ready kids for church and have a rare 2 hours to myself.

Beck, so glad the move did not shatter your resolve, don’t know if I could have pulled that off as well.

Doggie, glad the curves workouts are working for you!! Sounds like you have momentum on your side now. The feeling of being healthy, physically strong and mentally clear is powerful.

Cindi, so sorry the pain has persisted; I did ask my dad about any alternative meds or therapies he had used for his neuropathy, he said nothing he had tried worked very well. His issues lay more in balance and numbness in his extremities.

Pamina, you’re doing so well, way to go!!

Mary, hope you’re enjoying your vaca!!

I missed so many, hope you’re all doing well!!

Hi OMW, good to hear from you. Been a really quiet weekend at MWO. Good to hear you are doing so well. I used to be a g&t drinker as well esp in the summer. I know the whole hiding, feeling like garbage, guilt, routine by heart...I too am glad I'm not in that place anymore. I did survive the move - though it was touch and go for a while (actually weeks) I am feeling better now that the voices have quieted. Just a reminder that I am addicted and not cured - I was beginning to forget so all in all a useful lesson. Having a bunch of kids makes the summer fly by. I can certainly relate. My husb signed all the kids up for VBS next week - the three eldest are volunteering and the youngest goes to class - TIME FOR ME!!! and the church is literally 2 minutes away so no long distance ferrying. Will be my vacation week. Family vacations are a lot of work for the Mom, don't you think?

Hello to all to come,

Welcome IBelieve!!!

Many people have done the MWO program and are sober or successfully moderating today.

As for moderating...there are those who can mod but it really is important to get 30 days alcohol free (AF) before you attempt. The simple truth is that many of us have tried to moderate in the past and have been unsuccessful. MWO is no magic cure all - it takes effort. Personally i joined MWO with the intent to moderate, but have decided that AF just works better in my life. I have been AF for 5 months.

Good luck to you. post daily - it helps. The boards are quiet today due to the long weekend - but will get livlier tomorrow.

Beck

Happy Sunday ABerooos!!

OMW, thanks for the daily kickstart.

Ibelieve, big welcome to you! you'll landed in a very good place here. Tell us a bit about yourself eh?

Paddy! just noticed you on yesterdays' thread. Glad your ok mate.

anyone hear from Mary lately? hoping she's ok. I know she's been very busy.

Dx and I went shooting this morning (very romantic in my way of thinking) LOL. it was great though and we passed a huge herd of sheep and a pack of sheep dogs on the way up...too cool. No, we didn't bring home any lamb chops!

Beck, enjoy your kids. big hello for those yet to join in today.

be well friends

Hi IBelieve,

If I were starting out now I would go to the Boozebusters thread on the ABS board where Doggygirl will welcome you with open arms. This abs thread is also good but has been a bit slow lately as some of the usual posters are on vacation. And of course you can join as many threads as you like.

There are some threads on the gen disc board as well - just read through and pick and choose.

Good luck,
Beck

Good luck to you,

Welcome, I believe. Yes join us on boozebusters 30 day challenge, where all who post have a 30 day goal. Some intend to stay alcohol free, others try to moderate after that. There is also a good thread under General called June Newbies Unite. Posting daily is a great help. It has been really quiet here this weekend due to the holiday.
P.S. No scam I assure you. No magic pill either, it takes desire and determination but there is lots of encouragement here.

beck - thanks for starting the thread ... Had a good week last week but crashed last night emotionally speaking, so hanging out here!! Also have tons of work to do which should keep me preoccupied ... except it doesn't!

Work is really important, but staying AF is more so for now. But I'm struggling!!

Ibelieve (what a great name!!) ... there is no scam! Just a bunch of people helping each other. And feel free to post wherever you feel comfortable ........ I do the Boozebusters one every morning and evening (even when I slip) and others when I have the time (a good friend told me very early on that I am more than my drinking ..... a good thought for me when I am obsessing!). More when I'm feeling tempted or down (like now). Louise suggested the Newbies Unite thread, and also there is a ODAT one - pick up whatever works for you!!!!

Det - think Mary is holidaying! And reckon you have some guy-wire thoughts about romantic!!!! But you rock anyway!!!
