Default Thursday 7th August

Morning everyone.......a quick start but I'll be back on later. Think I've finally finished my decorating....apart from a bit of varnishing around the windowsill but that can wait until Saturday. Today I went back into the outside world and had my hair done which was very much needed!

This afternoon I'm off to do the weekly shop and will enjoy studying the wines for the weekend. Last year it would have been a "box of anything" and that wouldn't have lasted long! Now I'm enjoying the quality of a nice bottle of wine with my hubby rather than the quantity of something that tasted like what I just used to clean my paintbrushes!

The sun has finally come out here in England - what a shame I'm going to be stuck in a supermarket!!

Have a great day modders!!

Default Happy Thursday

although it feels like Friday for me since I am off tomorrow.

Hey Janice, glad you're getting some sunshine and congrats on getting your decorating done. I think its refreshing to the soul to have our physical space please us.

Still cloudy and rainy here today, hope it clears up for the weekend as I am climbing Lafayette, a 4,000 footer w/ a friend from work. We'll start out early Friday and hike up to a Appalachian Mountain Club hut for supper and the night. Then hike along the ridge Saturday and then hike down and return to our car. Layfayette is one of my favorites but I haven't climbed it in ten years so. Hoping all my biking training will serve me well.

Have been AF for past two nights, might have a glass of wine with friends after an evening meeting tonight, but not too much as I have to be up at 6 am.

Hope everyone else is well! Check in and let us know, if you can.

Ask, that sounds like a great way to spend the weekend!! Enjoy!! We went to Switzerland at the end of June - Grindlewald, at the foot of the Eiger........did lots of hiking (not up the Eiger!!!) but had a memorable trip up the jungfraujoch "The Top of Europe" inbetween the Monch and jungfrau. It was amazing - like being halfway between heaven and earth.

Just got back from supermarket and put my shopping away. Had a little smile to myself as I put the wine away.......the house is empty, only me here and those old habits would have seen me popping that cork and having my first glass. Instead, yep you guessed, the kettle's gone on and the coffee smells good!!!!

Janice,

Wanted to pop in here to say hello. You sound wonderful. I am very happy for you. Got all that decorating done. I love Switzerland - been to all of those places you listed. Made the kids hike everywhere - they were okay so long as there was a luge ride and ice cream at the end.

Hi Ask, took my family up to New Hampshire on holiday a few weeks ago. Spent some time in the White Mtns. Beautiful. Husb and I will go back without the kids some time. They are great hikers but even better whiners.

Good Day,

Hi Beck......yeh, not doing too bad thanks. At one point this week I did wonder whether I'd come to the end of my MWO road and to do what Star did and remove myself completely from the site. Since returning to MWO after starting to drink again and especially after posting on Abs, I sort of felt really guilty for the decision I'd made - if you know what I mean? And yet, I didn't make that decision lightly.

Hope you're enjoying your time to yourself!! I'll pop over to Abs and say hello now and again!!

Much love

Janicexxx

Hey everyone,
climbing today, it will probably be 100 F with ~50% humidity. I will drink 2 gallons of water today without peeing.......!!!!

Moderation is a must otherwise I will not be able to remain hydrated.

Everyone stay safe ............

Hi everybody,
Just checking in. (Kinda late....I've been hiking all day myself. Unfortunately it's been indoors between tables....throwing food @ people! LOL)

I'd much rather be up on some mountain in the Rockies,...or Switzerland...

Just got off work a while ago.

Had a great trip up the river on Tues with the family. We saw 6 black bears on the Jet boat trip! Pretty rare to see that many in one trip! We got lucky (2 Mama's w/ 2 cubs each!) I took some pics, but not sure how good they came out yet.)

I have to work tomorrow AM, then I get the weekend off for our Family reunion on Sat!

Looking forward that.

Hugs,
Judie

I am here a day late! I was on the road a good part of the day yesterday, drove my nephew from our house in NH to Troy NY, had to pull over a few times as the rain was so heavy. Sounds like some fun hiking and bear sightings, cool!
