Hi all, haven't been able to post because the hamster that turns the wheel of my server has got direah so keeps climbing off to go to the loo - using a friends computer at the moment.

We have a lot planned for this weekend starting off with a champagne breakfast to watch the rugby South Africa vs New Zealand and then off to the horse races so today will be a very long an a big test for me!! I have planned to have one glass of champers for the rugby and 2 glasses of wine throughout the day (one for lunch and one for dinner).

Here's to a mod weekend! Will post when the hamster gets off the toilet... lol

Great to hear from you DeeBee, missed you yesterday!

So I decided I'd go to the pub last night instead, yes I've swapped the nights around, that's allowed isn't it? Anyway, I only had 3 drinks instead of my normal 4 and didn't have any large measure double vodkas, that sort of makes up for that day I didn't go AF... sort of. My husband said in the morning, 'There see, that was much better only going for 3 beers, wasn't it?' I was reluctant but knew he was right and agreed (He then proceeded to poke me in the liver!). I feel that this obsession is being chipped away at a little bit at a time.

OK, time to add those units up again, 3 x 2.3 units (they were pints of Carling you see) = 6.9 units.

Existing 12.6 + 6.9 = 19.5

My husband bought me a hot air balloon trip for my birthday and the champagne breakfast was all I could think about!!! How sad...

I think "modding" is definately a mindset you have to psych yourself up for to a certain degree, and continue to be very diligent about...

Which is easier said than done. But, it CAN be done.

It seems for me, to be able to enjoy a few beers @ the 4th of July celebration, & not feel like a "social outcast" because I'm not "allowed" to enjoy myself, ... well it works for me.

Been thinking a lot about the differences of the 12 step ideals & MWO. I've been working with a woman who does the AA & 12 step thing, who's very serious & strict. Which, works for her.

But for me, MWO is such a saving grace. Someone asked me today, "If there was beer in the fridge when I opened it, would I want to drink one..."
Well, this was after working a long & hot shift. DAMN right I DO! But, that doesn't mean I'm gonna drink ALL of the beer in the fridge..(like I would have years ago)

Just some rambling thoughts...

Happy belated Independence day! God Bless our
Troops & keep Em Safe.

hugs
Judie

Vlad,
Have a wonderful Birthday & a great flight! I've been up in one of those before... they're loud! Nice view though. I prefer the hangliding ride...I took later that day(tandom). That was an awesome day!

Oh, to be young & living in the Rockies again!

I would still do this, like your friend from AA said, its about being strict. If I fancy a beer I go to the off licence and buy 2. I will then only drink 2.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, my balloon flight was actually a month ago and was brilliant, but thanks anyway!!!

Default Another crazy alcoholic dream...

Last night I dreamt I turned into a giant and was stomping all over houses and things. I needed a drink and started to eat off licences. I said, 'No, this is no good, I need to find a distillery!!!'

When this'll stop I'll never know...

Hey Judie

I remember a quote from 'Pushing Daises'... Can't remember the character's name but he said...

"If there's vodka in my freezer, doesn't mean I have to drink it... No, wait!!! Yes it does!!!"

Forgot to mention, it's an AF day for me - I'm busy this evening so hopefully I WILL stick to it!!! Better had do. The NHS recommends we have at least 2 alcohol free days a week.
