You may want to consider auricular (ear) acupuncture as you prepare to detox and withdraw from alcohol. We also recommend it as an adjunct to the MWO program in general. It can be highly effective in reducing craving and calming the mind. I've had it done myself and love it. You'll want to find a specialist--often associated with a local holistic clinic--who is knowledgeable in this area. Insurance may pay for the procedure. Yes, I noticed too that it works like a charm for a while, but then after a month or so the cravings return or overpower the naltrexone. Also.. my dr. told me that naltrexone's efficacy increases if you take prozac with it.
