Default Weaning off of Topa

I am up to 100 mg; I think it's week 5 and would go to 150 according to RJ's dosing schdule, but considering getting off of it entirely for several reasons: cost, I am not liking the tingly effects, I am just starting to take citalopram (AD) and I think it is making me tired. How have people dosed down? I have another prescription for it and could go back on it. I have L-glut and am taking 1000-2000 a day; wondering if it is just as effective as the Topa. I am not having what I would call "craving emergencies" but, let's see, more irritated and bitchier than usual at certain times?

ALso, RJ's book does not have you continue the supps past the 6 week point, but it seems that most people here do -- esp the l-glut. Any suggestions there, esp. if I discontinue the topa. Thanks!

I could not make it up to 100mg.of topa....to many side affects.Gabba is all the take now, other than vitamins.I am not sure that I even need that because I feel so different inside.L glut and Gabba may be all you need.i think that we are all so different that we must go by trail and error.I got to a place where i know that drinking is just not an option.I have camprel , which I have heard others use for long term matinence.I think that the side effects are less.LOL....Evie

1-2 grams may not be enough L-glute. I bought it in bulk and use a teaspoon twice a day.
This is from determinator: don't know why but it's a super supplement so keep up the good work. bear in mind if you have an alcohol or sugar craving taking just one or two capsules is not very effective. clinical trials have shown that a dose of 7+grams (not MG's) is often effective in curbing cravings. fortunately it's not harmful in even much higher doses. it also helps to rebuild our intestinal walls that in most cases are badly abused by alcohol.

Does anyone have experience with Topa and citalopram? Caseaday, weren't you taking both of these?

You may take Topamax and Celexa (citalopram) safely without adverse effects. I have.

Either one may cause fatigue.

The tingling should go away.....perhaps you have no "craving emergencies" because of the Topa?

Personally, if you think it is working for you, I think 5 weeks is too early to stop.

My best,

magic xxx
