Hi Neil,
Thanks for more of an insight into your journey. Clearly,a commitment to giving up the booze becomes all the stronger if we have a multi-faceted approach like your own........you initially made a commitment to recovery and continue every day to commit yourself 100% in every respect. To people who have been drinking excessively and ,as the case often is, sorely neglecting their health, your regime may seem extreme, but I think that tackling and triumphing over the drink does indeed take extreme energy, if we are to become truly well and strive to undo as much of the damage as possible that the drink has caused us in mind, body and soul. I, for one, am fascinated by your recovery to date, and have real admiration for anyone who can show such endless commitment, strength and resolve to heal themselves, out of the ashes of what began as a weakness. I pray to God to be in your shoes some day. I look forward to reading of how things transpire for you between now and your 1000 days. It`s been such a pleasure to read your post. Thankyou. Much love, Starlight Impress x |

Neil, what can I say, once again a fantastic post, it is so uplifting to read something like that.. I have been reading your posts since I joined this forum and I have been hanging on to your coat tails ever since..
It does take a hell of a lot of hard work and dedication, and its a job which will never end.. Its like patrolling the boundaries to make sure the enemy never breaks through, at first its hard because everything is new, but, gradually it becomes a part of your everyday life.. You have to turn your whole mind around and develop a new way of thinking.. Like you, I now have reached a stage where I don't need to take as many supps as I used to, but they are still there should I need them, I still use meditation and hypnosis though.. Neil, you are such an example to us all, I am looking forward to your 1000 day essay.. With love from Louise xxx

Louise you must be close to a year now, no? Share with us your amount of sobriety time. You should be so proud of your strength and determination as well. There are a few success stories here on MWO, this can be done. It is hard work as the LTA have said, but well worth it!
