Candle Prayer

I thought I would share this because it is helping me.

I got a blue candle which is the color of healing. You can get it @ any candle shop or new age shop and some even are in a glass container and say Alleged Miracle Healing Power for headaches, arthritis, depression, cancer, addiction, alcoholism back pain, etc. Kinda gimicky but it really matters how you set your intention, not what the candle says. Then I bought a buddha that looked really peaceful and serene @ Target and it is made to hold a candle. I put my rosary around Buddha's neck. I wrote a prayer to God, Creator, Healer, Goddess, whatever works for you that you know to be omnipotent and wants you to experience your greater good. I thanked God/Universe for taking the addiction from me and I folded the paper under the candle and lit it stating my prayer/intent outloud. The candle with Buddha and my rosary are on the hearth in front of the kitchen and I view it burning about 1000x a day. I leave it burning all night too. It is on marble and I think it is safe but if you don't think safe, snuff it out. Do not blow it out or you blow your prayer away. Light again and restate your intent when safe. I also have the MWO abs subliminal cd on repeat and it plays over and over. This feels really right for me and required action on my part. The action is important to me.

Anyway, take it or leave it. Just seems really nice to me.

EDIT: I actually move the Buddha and candle to my bedroom @ night so that it is the last thing I see @ night and the first thing I see in the a.m. It gives me great peace. Catholic churches always have candles burning in prayer. Why not in our homes?

lucky I think that candles in the dark bring a lot of peace and relaxation. I come home sometimes and just light candles on my coffee table and sit on the couch and close my eyes and breathe in silence for 20 minutes. It truly helps. My grand mnother said to light a candle with a glass of water next to it, and this would make you have good dreams. I do that some times although I am afraid of leaving candles burning at night. (kitty cat in house)
