Daily meditation

Hello, I've just started reading "Praying for Purpose" for women, and I thought I'd try to share something from each daily chapter.

here goes:

Day 1: What are you afraid of?

The Lord said..."Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;
do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:1,9




Day 2: What consequences have you faced from a life mistake?

But your inequities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2



Day 3:When have you persevered? (This is the one that brought me here)

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

"Dear Lord, help me learn to rejoice in my sufferings, because I know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Today I pray that I will become a woman of extreme perseverance, not letting difficulties and delays discourage me. I ask especially for persistence that will build my character and give me hope when I am in a "holding pattern" of waiting for things to happen or improve. Help me to see that it is actually easier for me to persevere than to live with the regret of having given up hope. Thank you for your gift of perseverance."

Day 4 What's Confused in your Life?

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

Dear Lord God, I lack wisdom and I ask you, who gives generously to all without fault, to fill me with wisdom. Your Word promises that you will do that for me. I thank you for reminding me that I'm not alone in this life quandary and that your light will clear up my confusion. Help me hear your voice, your wisdom, your truth.

Day 5 How did God use a crisis or problem to bring good into your life?


And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

"Dear Lord God, I know that in all things you work for the good of those who love you, those who have been called according to your purpose. Today I thank you for how you planned, in advance, to turn all my crises and problems into good--and that you have made that promise to all Christians. It gives me enormous hope. Help me always remember that you are my compassionate and caring Father. I give all my hurt and troubles to you to put to good use. Amen

Day 6 What are a few of your talents or skills?

Then the Lord said..."And I have filled him with the spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts." Exodus 31:1,3

Dear Lord, you have filled me with the Spirit of God--with skill, ability and knowledge. Today I pray that you will help me use my talents and skills to the nth degree! If there is some ability in me that I have not tapped into, please show me, so I can dedicate it to you, along with my other talents and skills. Stretch me, God, into the full measure of who you want me to be. Help me boldly claim my full capacity for your use.

Day 7 How do you define success?

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6


Dear Christ Jesus, I am confident of this, that you who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of your return. I pray that today I will gain more clarity about true success, which is living for you, as you carry out your good work. Let me show up wherever you call me each day and cooperating with you, pointing others to you. Not only do I give you permission to make me successful in your eyes only, I welcome it. The world's success has always left me feeling thirsty for more, but success by your standards will fill me to overflowing.
