Default Breakfast

I know at least one of you lovely people enjoy garlic with their quinoa and spinach at breakfast time- hullo My Own Woman -I was just wondering what the rest of you eat for breakfast?

This morning I have a huge bowl in front of me as I type-don't you just love a slice of MWO with your breakfast? Anyway! I know you are simply agog waiting for me to reveal the contents of said bowl, so here goes:

100 flakes of oats (yes, I am guessing)
30 sesame seeds (ditto)
28 sunflower seeds (ditto)
25 blueberries (estimate)
15 raspberries (ditto)
10 large mango chunks
2 generous dollops of organic yog (okay make that very generous)

Healthy? yes
sustaining? yes
Greedy? no!

Come on, guys
What's on your brekky menu?
Surprise me!

Anna

nuvva cup of tea

And I've got a little pot of almonds, walnuts and dates by my side to nibble in about an hour's time......

(Lunch is ready.....homemade soup - kale, garlic, onions, leeks and chickpeas...yum!)

Not that I LOVE food, or anything.............................

I had a fried bacon and egg butty! There!

No, actually I didn't at all - I don't like fried egg in my bacon butty - it oozes out too much!!

Seriously I had

A bowl of home made muesli - no idea what is in it as it changes all the time. Basically dried fruit, nuts, seeds, oats, wheatgerm etc With banana.

Then slice of walnut bread toasted, grilled free range bacon and poached egg from my own hens. Like to have a big breakfast - helps me not snack later in the day.

Not sure Hubby will buy the quinoa breakfast idea but I will try it when he is away. Q and avacado sounds yummy. Being a meat breeder/eater I may well put a bit of bacon it too. How about some tuna? Tomato. Hmmmm I'm liking this idea more and more..

Suze
oh my, what a savoury breakfast for you, with your Quin+cannellini beans etc
you continue to inspire me!
you also continue to make me hungry and I so want your little pot of almonds etc
and your homemade soup too
wish I was Snow White and your house belonged to the 7 dwarfs-I'd be there pronto to scoff the lot!

come to think of it, I have an avo in the fridge, I like them chilled and some chick peas sprouted by me, crying out to be eaten.
It is 12 noon after all and I have washed several floors.

Time to eat. Obviously.
Anna

Go to it, Anna....EAT!

Bessie.....I so agree with you - a big breakfast is a really good start to the day. I often have eggs too.....on spelt toast or with irish potato farls. Another goodie is brown rice with a tin of sardines or mackerel (or leftover white fish from the night before), topped with some avocado. Sprinkle seeds on the top as well! Yum!

Do you make your walnut bread, Bessie?

Anna....you've inspired me to sprout some chickpeas!

Love

I had my new favorite...I make it on Sunday for the week...

Take a 6-muffin tin and spray w/ cooking spray. In each cup I add 1/4 organic egg whites, spinach, roasted red peppers, and sliced organic turkey sausage. bake at 350 for 22 minutes. Voila! Put them in the refrigerator and eat them for 6 days. I mix it up each week..

Each day...

I take one of my egg muffins, slice it, put it into half an Ezekiel pita (very high protien, sprouted grain bread), and add 1oz low fat cheese. Wrap it all in a paper towel and microwave to warm for 45 seconds.

They are FANTASTIC. Great Protein, Good Fats, Good Carbs, and all at about 200 calories. Oh, and warm.. Like that this time of year...

xoxoxo

2 cups of coffee with milk and sugar
2 cigarettes

The breakfast of champions! There is left over pizza in the fridge from last night that is calling out my name too!
