Default A special recipe for our Lucky!

Dearest Lucky,
I searched high and low for this recipe for you and finally found it.
Here goes

Duck Liver Pate.
Divide into 3 parts:
1 ˝ lb. Duck livers
In a blender, mix one part with:
2 eggs
Blend the second part briefly with:
1/4 cup whipped cream
Blend the third part with:
4 slices chopped bacon, blanched
1 egg
3 tablespoons brandy
2 tablespoons wine
2 tablespoons port wine
1/4 cup flour
Mix these 3 blends together > very lightly with:
1 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoons salt
˝ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
(1/4 cup pistachio nuts or 1 to 2 minced truffles)

Place mixture in a greased loaf pan and top with:
Thin-sliced blanched salt pork
Cover tightly with heavy foil and place baking pan up to about half its depth in a larger pan of boiling water. Bake at 325 deg. about 1 ˝ to 2 hours, or to an internal temperature of 180 deg. Serve cold, after removing some of the fat from the top surface if necessary.

Enjoy Lovey!

Sounds heavenly. Don't want to be here when Lucky reads it though!

However, for the record, I do not like Pate... duck, chicken or deer!!!

Happy Friday All!

Pate is gross, I agree Bambi. It is that stuff that has that clearish jelly all mixed into meat spread - isn't it? Or creamed liver pate? Ewe!

Deer Pate? Oh my word. I needed to start a healthier diet today and shed 5 pounds or so, so I think with this thread and the Pork Nugget recipe - I am well on my way of loss of appetite LOL. If I get the urge to stuff food in my face, I will be sure to read them.
