Wow welcome to the family! Your first step is admitting you have a problem and need help. Thank you for making MWO your first contact with admitting you need help! We are all here to help you and believe me when I tell you, there are many of us that have been where you are. Each one of us have lost control over alcohol, and knew we had to take our lives back and moderate or abstain in order to survive. Brandy |

Hi Skip, I don't know if I was high functioning. I missed a lot of activities because of drinking. I regret that more and more each day. My kids are now 28, and 21 but I wish I could bring back those school plays, games etc that I missed and some I went to with a pretty good buzz on. Only to leave right after so I could drink. I'm 46 now and have 3 grandkids. I don't want to miss those years, even though they live quite a distance from me. Hope to see you here. I'm new as of March 28th. Had 2 days of drinking (to much) on those days. I'm making progress though.

Skipp, Kristen, and Kirky
Big Welcome to you all. It really sounds like you are all willing and ready to make a wonderful change. I truly believed that NOTHING could belp me moderate my drinking or help me be more of a "normal" drinker because I had tried so many times and failed over the past 4 yrs or so. Self discipline and the lies to myself and my family was just never enough and it was frustrating and extremely depressing. If you commit to as many facets to this program as possible, you should see some amazing results!! Some people immediately shoot straight up to the top and seem to not really ever have a problem with the drinking again (very diligent with program and Lucky!!), but it seems most of us may have a couple bumps along the way, but make HUGE strides forward in our lives and have EXTREMELY happier selves and families!! The future looks very bright for me, and I owe an enormous thanks to this program. No, by the way, I don't work here!! (I am a health care professional, but staying-at-home-mom right now). Striving to each day wake up clear and focused, NOT resent that timing with the kid's evening events (that part is getting much easier... no more vodka and lemonade in travel coffee mug:( ). I've been here 4 months. Still working on it, I'm still not perfect, but MUCH BETTER. Drinking less than half than before finding the program, and my LIFE is back on track! :D Good luck!!!!! Hope to hear more from you. Becca |

Thank you all,
I was very surprised to find so many other people in the same situation as me. It has changed my perspective to see it in writing and I am committed to doing this. I have the book and I am going to see my doctor for the prescription ( I am crossing my fingers that it works, nothing else has). I'll let you know how it goes and I wish you all success with your own efforts. Peter |

Hi Tawny
Thanks for that, it is needed for people to say keep in touch. Just a quickie as I have to go to work shortly. I am on day 10 now with no alcohol. Last night was the best sleep yet with only one nytol. Still tired though. The wife did not have to go and sleep in the other room which is a result. Hope everybody else is getting on OK. Cant wait till the tapes get here. Really going to do it this time cheers Kirky |

Sav
welcome. This is a good step for you to make. Dont know your details, but whatever they are I am sure that if you are inspired by the messages on these boards that you CAN like me put an end to the purgatory of drinking needlessly. I am on day 13 abs now and feel great. It can do it for you too. Good luck. Keep coming back Kirky |
