American Idol

I have a 13 year old daughter, so of course we watch this every season. It is a great show to watch together..fun when they start narrowing down the contestants like they will tomorrow night. Then we each pick one to see who will make it to the end. Last year my daughter picked Bo and I picked Carried Underwood. Yeah I won! Anyone else watch this with or without their children? We even got My Husband and younger son watching the contestant trials this year, some of these are so funny others are just plain sad... That darn Simon! But its fun family time which is hard to get sometimes with a 13 year old.

Now it's going to be just plain stupid until they can get it narrowed down to 24...the groups are just big bashing sessions! Oh well! The try-outs were fun while they lasted.

AAAAHHH! I've been missing this section of the website! So focused on the new people and the general discussion. I'm an American Idol fanatic, even though it's painfully stupid at times.
Here's some history. When it came out, what? 4 yrs ago or so, my friend and I would have American Idol nites. That meant no husbands, just sitting on my living room floor with a couple bottles of wine and watching. It was a great friendship and what a fun thing to do!
Well, now I live 4 hrs away from her, we don't even really talk much anymore, but every time I watch American Idol now, it is most difficult to do it without that wine. Last Wed, I tried something. Sauteed up some shrimp and popped some popcorn, opened a bottle of ODoules and watched and drank (NA!) and ate with my kids! 7 and 4 year old boys. My husband would s*** if he knew I was turning his boys into fans!!!!
Hey, this will be good for me. I'll stick around here for Idol. I keep finding things we have in common... so nice.
