Default All in One

Just wondering how you all take your All in One supp? I don't want to mix mine with juice, since it's too much sugar for me. I've been using some crystal light powder and water. Any low calorie ideas?

Hi Miss Layla,

I mix mine with protein powder & fruit to make a smoothie. It's delicious! It's low calorie if you use it as a meal replacement. Actually, it's recommended for weight management b/c when you have one in the am it stabilizes your blood sugar for the day, and keeps you from getting hungry.

There's been a lot of posting around the boards on All One, you could do a search & see what others have mixed it with too.

Bon Appetit!

Thanks Deirdre, and what kind of fruit do you use, and how much of it? Do you add water?
Thanks,
Miss Layla

Most days just use water and drink it fast.

Hi again Miss Layla,
I mix it with water, but you can use whatever you like - rice, soy, or cow's milk, a little pomegranite juice, etc. I usually use fresh or frozen berries, but you can use any fruit you like - mango, peach, anything that you can blend, so not citrus fruits I guess. You can customize it to your taste & enjoy!

Default Attention all US shoppers... Smoothie makers on sale at JCP

Hey ya'll... HAD to letcha know... JCPennys currently has a Smoothie Elite by Back To Basics on sale! It normally runs @ $49 and change... Now it's $29 and change plus sales tax!!!

It's the kind ya can leave right in the base and pour your smoothie through a spout toward the bottom. It has an oppening at the top for adding ingredients as ya go and a stir stick goes in the same oppening for helping shove down big chunks. Ya KNOW I had to get one! I tried it this mornin'... LOVE IT!

Onto this mornin's recipe:
One banana (frozen in chunks last night)
One handfull frozen strawberries
Approx. 4 oz. cherry fruit on the bottom yogurt
Approx. 1/2 cup 2% milk
Approx 3/4 cup ice
All In One powder

Get a tall glass and a straw...This thing was HUUUUGE! lol... I'm using it as a breakfast meal 'cuz I gotta feelin' there ain't nothing low cal about it...

Default Gotta new AIO smoothie recipe

Here's this mornin's smoothie recipe:

1/2 cup Orange Juice
1/2 cup (4 oz) Vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and rasberries)
1/2 of a banana
All In One powder

Makes approx. 2 cups
Approx. 260 calories

Now this was DELICIOUS tasting!!! Made an excellent meal replacement. IF those teeny berry seeds annoy you like they do me... Try blending the OJ and berries first. Run that mixture through a loose strainer. Then toss it back in the blender with the rest of the ingredients. Yeah, there's an extra step but soooooo worth it! I also added 1/2 cup of ice to mine. I like it a little more slushy...

If you want to really go lo-cal, you can try plain yogurt, add a little spenda or equal and some vanilla flavoring to cut out the sugar. Glad I stopped over on the abs board, everyone!!! You have some great topics here!!!

Hugs,
Kathy

Layla... When you get your blender... think about getting one with a plastic pitcher. I broke my glass pitcher on the very first day I tried the AIO. I set it in the sink after rinsing it, it tipped over and BAM! But the bright side is... now I have my way kewel SMOOTHIE MAKER!

Kathy... Thanks for the low cal idea! Toying around with lower cal recipes is must in the near future. I'm not really a fan of artificial sweetners so it's gonna be a challenge to find a great taste combo with more natural ingredients and fewer cals. Please share if ya have any?

This mornin's slushy:
1 cup V8 juice
3/4 cup Ice
All In One powder

This was inspired by the MWO book. RJ said she mixes AIO with V8... Well, I love V8 so thought I'd give it a try... The V8 definately works, but I'm not too jazzed about it as a slushy...I think it'd work better with just V8 & AIO...lol... Back to the kitchen for me...
