Default Day 10

Circumstances in themselves don't change people. Most of us can be disfunctional anywhere. And we can also make a healthy turnaround anywhere. The issue is not what's around us; it's what's in us...
I pray today for honesty and the ability to see that the answer is within me, not in the circumstances around me.|I

Good thoughts for today, Judie, and very helpful for me! I have a nice, balanced day planned--a few clients this morning and an afternoon with a non-drinking friend. Other than that, I have lots of ideas popping around in my head for things to do around here at home. I'm getting inspired. I don't know if that is great or dangerous!ol

I did have 3 1/2 glasses of wine last night, and today, I'm rewarded with my topa hangover:x Nothing like consequences!!! Arrrgh!

I am feeling better emotionally though, and I am thankful for that. Owe a lot to MWO friends here!

Lots of love,
Kathy

Morning everybody,

Kathy, I hope you feel better soon. I hate those slow, starting mornings...:\ Hubby caught me noddin off on the computer last night, after a 9 hr shift! At least I didn't have any trouble sleeping. ol

The only way to pull off a saturday afternoon quickie with their 8yr old son in the apartment was to send him out on the balcony with a popsicle and tell him to report on all the neighborhood activities.

He began his commentary as his parents put their plan into operation: "There's a car being towed from the parking lot", he shouted.
A few moments passed..."AN ambulance just drove by" A few moments later, "Looks like the Anderson's have company", he called, out.
A few moments later "looks like the Sanders are moving"
"Jason is on his skateboard"
A few more minutes, "the Coopers are having sex"
Startled, his Mother & Dad shot up in bed! Dad cautiously called out, "How do you know they are having sex?"
"Jimmy Cooper is standing on his balcony with a popsicle too":rollin

Good Day Everyone!!

Judie What a funny story!!! :rollin Seems like my kids have radar when it comes to that. Especially my 12 yr old son. I don't think he wants mom doing that til she's married and he's gonna be my chaperone. Feels like he needs to check in on us frequently!! ol Oh well...If we want to really cut loose and get wild we have to go to the Palace Inn...at pay by the hour....lots of mirrors...black lights...funky painted ceilings and walls....Keeps our relationship rockin! All my married friends go there too...I turned them on to the place...:b

All right enough about that....I had a wonderful Friday night. Went to dinner and had one glass of wine and it lasted the entire dinner....from the 30 minute wait at the bar until we left. I kept asking Eric if that was still my first glass of wine. AWESOME!!!! I actually was downing the last sip as I was getting up to leave!

Tonight will be AF. Birthday party for my daughter at the bowling alley. I'm lovin life. :D woooo hoooo!!!

Hugs to all!
Hope

Quick check in again.
Kathy, so glad you are doing better emotionally, but sorry to hear about that topa hangover... it reminds us, doesn't it:x ??
I hear ya.
I did a little mini wine tasting with my mom yesterday at Vino 100 (100 wines for under $25 bucks). This is the place where the owners know us by name and want me to work there... yeah, great frigging idea!!!!ol ol . Anyhow, sipped those little mini pours, nothing too exciting, of 4 different tastes.
Went to a mexican restaurant and had 1 margarita. Home with mom, we had tea. It was a great night! We talked a lot.
Got in the chat room... it's been a party every night there. I'm loving the friendships. Nice to vent a bit at night and get my head together and stay on track and LAUGH!
Tammie, NICE JOB on keeping yourself AF. You sound great, really. Hope you are having wonderful days with your family. We need to catch up soon.
Everyone else must be commended on a pretty good week too, as far as I can tell. Cool.
Let's keep our plans in check for today. It's Saturday. On my calendar, the last day of the week to F it all up:eek . I WON'T today though. Got that run tomorrown that I'm actually pretty nervous about. 6 miles. 7am. I'll be thinking about you all and what I'm doing for me and my boys, most importantly, every inch of the way!
Happy Saturday!!
Love,
Becca

Default Day 10

Hi All,

Judie, Great quote and very cute story - yeah they figured out that Sunday morning bike ride we would always send them on!

Kathy, I think your posts are wonderful and I am sorry you have had such a rough couple of days. Ditto on what Diedre said yesterday. Oh, and thanks for the info on the CDs. Haven't had a chance to try them yet, am planning on trying them later tonight.

Tammie, Awesome job!

Hope, teenage boys are like that . . and they stay very protective! Sneaking it on the side is about all you can do at that point! Oh and wonderful on the one glass of wine!

Becca, hard bodied Becca . . we are all rooting for you! Good luck tomorrow - you will do great!!

I went to a lovely restaurant last night with two girlfriends, incredibly stimulating conversation. Had one glass of wine with dinner. Got back home about 10:30. I didn't have coffee or desert but something kept me up. I was still awake at 1:30 so I did go out to the kitchen and took a shot of rum. Just one though and went back to bed. Tough nights sleep. I did take 2 calmes forte after dinner but wow, that was just too weird. Laid in bed awake and fougth my demons! Bet those CDs will have me asleep in a moment this evening.

Of course the three of us last night are good friends with Diane - the surgery gone bad friend. Maybe that kept me up? Am visiting her at the Health center this afternoon after I finish work - weighing particularly heavy on my mind.

Hugs to all you are so dear,
Mary

Default Palace Inn

Hope,
You must immediately post the address, phone and email of this Palace Inn you mentioned.
Can't do it up like that in our own rooms. If we had a party, where would everyone leave their coats?
And sure enough my Mother-In-Law would find an excuse to peek into our room.
Hah, might just be the ticket. She'd keel over for sure.

Just a jest. Ha ha.

Default Party Pants

Life is only the big party it was meant to be if there are other people there, dancing, singing, chatting, and making waves right alongside of you. Draw more people into your life, and the party will just get better....and more interesting, varied, lively, and fun.
Allow yourself to connect with kindness, compassion, empathy, and good humor-let your hair down, put on your party pants, and celebrate your life!
Loretta LaRoche

Thanks for turning me onto that book Rebecca! One of my new favorites! "LIFE IS SHORT- WEAR YOUR PARTY PANTS"

10 Simple ways to connect today

1- Smile at someone in the elevator.(you guys are gonna have to do this one for me) there's not one of those around here for 100's of miles!

2-Invite a co-worker to lunch. (that I can do....maybe we'll order out for pizza @ the restaurant tonight! HA!)

3-Call your Mother, or someone in your life who nurtures you.

4-Give someone a compliment-And mean it.

5- Make small talk with the person who sells you your morning coffee.(around here...that would more than likely be a relative!)

6- Make a funny face in an unexpected place(like in line @ the store, until someone laughs)

7- Talk to your family during dinner, without any outside distractions.

8- Call someone you haven't spoken to in a year.(call em what?)

9- Give someone in your life a gift, for no special reason other than that you think they might like it.

10- Tell people that you appreciate what they do for you- perhaps your local firefighters(my Hubby's a volunteer firefighter... I i sure appreciate what he does for me!!)
or police officers. (I served the state trooper that busted me for DUI, 3 yrs ago,... dinner last night.... didn't even spill anything,....on him!) Wouldn't they be shocked to have people drop by to say, "thanks for being there, in case we need you?"...
(I did ID his little boy for his "root beer" though!)ol
