Default Day 11

Aloha Surf People!

Day 11 is here, and we're goin' strong!

How many records are we breaking here guys?
Can you hear the crowd roar!!?

Great work all of you!! Smashing Babay!! Verrry Groovy!! (Did I just watch Austin Powers? Naahhhh!! ol )

OK so here we are, comfortably settled into a week & a half! Turning it all around, not bad eh? So what has changed for you so far? How does it feel not having to stop at the store for beer/wine/liquor? Are you getting reacquainted with you again? This really is an amazing adventure isn't it!!? Good, bad, ugly, happy, sad, beautiful. It's all life right? Glad to be back?

What I love about being abs at this point is being able to face the things life throws my way, good or bad. My self respect is returning, my confidence that I can take care of myself is returning. Now that I have some time abs, I can step back & see just how out of control my life had become. Everything may have looked ok from a distance, but I knew I was a wreck and had to do something about it. I remember the feeling of knowing that if something difficult happened in my life or my family in the state I was in, I wouldn't be strong enough to handle it, and I would sink deeper down into the bottle in an attempt to protect myself.

Now, instead of protecting myself in my weakness, I'm protecting myself during this period of recuperating from the devastation. Strength is building, and I'm learning a lot about what I can and can't control. Growing emotionally I guess you could say. It's not a painful growth, but feels very fruitful, even graceful.

Feeling very grateful for this, and for having all of you to share with. It truly is an honor for me. I feel SO blessed ol !!

Hope you all have a beautiful day...

Deirdre

What I need are your prayers. I can not explain why, just know that I really need them!! You are all such wonderful people and truly I am a better and stronger person for having knowen you. I will check in latter if I can!

I hope you all have a wonful day!

Good Mornin' ya'll

Day 6 here. 5 down! Gee, the last time I had 5 down was in December. I fell flat on my face on day 6, but NOT THIS TIME! This is sooooooo encouraging. It's not that I've got some false sence of euphoria... Nor am I white knuckled and anxious... There is a proative plan in place to give my body the nutrients it needs to keep it on an even keel! And I'm feeling... well... LEVEL. Eyes wide open... actively persueing heatlth. I love that! This is such a different approach.

Deirdre, It was good to almost chat with ya last night... Please stop in again and stay longer k? Loved your post this morning. You sound great! Sniff... our little Deirdre... She's growing up soooo fast... Seriously, I love how level you are. Yeah baby! It's shagaliceous! How long have you been abs?

HAPPY NOT HUNGOVER SATURDAY YA'LL

Amazing, after a week of having trouble signing on to the site, my computer mysteriously began working again... glad to hear people are doing well. It seems like there is always so much going on in our lives it is hard to put things in perspective. I plan to spend today planting some flowers!

i'm here for you donna. praying for you. smiling lifting up those spirits. they uh, spiritual ones not the vodka. tis tough when our own will is not enough to change the course of direction of another. hell, we can hardly change our own. i continually pray thy will not my will. so, to know you have friends that dig you is a great thing.
and i was so moved and touched by steve building a barn was the post i read last nite before bed. 2 days i believe. hopefully today you have 3 if that is what you wanted. i'm so rooting for you to have 3 days. so keep on these posts. do you have the full amount of program equipment? cuz the meds and stuff are a big ol life saver.

well i did go out to the social events did have the 2 glasses of wine i said i was going to have and am on day one. it might make me a moderator only i want to abs the rest of the month. sigh. it was a real flashback to see that it wasn't that exciting and wow, if i flashback i'd drink an entire bottle a nite and that was my life not a one time activity. it just seems odd. how out of tune to my surroundings i was how not present. so yesterday and today i'm tender tush still. do not dehydrate on topamax and do not take too much fiber. it is just a bad idea. lol it was water all day yesterday and today. welcome to no hangover sunday everyone. that's two weeks in a row with no hangover. actually 4 weekends in a row with no hangover i really love that feeling. i just have to focus on one day at a time. so for today i am sober and tender tushy kimber. keep a smile on donna. you are loved and cared for. deirdre quite the inspiration. and steve hope you put together another day. if not, well there is today to begin a new. all we have is one day

Yay!!! New world record for me, 7 AFD's.
Last night we had dinner with my daughter and son-in-law. She poured me a glass of wine with dinner and I just looked at it through the meal. I dranks lots of club soda and water and several trips to the bathroom, but did not touch the wine. After dinner I passed the glass to my daughter.
It did not seem like that big of a deal, but it probably is a big step for me.
Love and Peace to all.
Phil.

Donna, my thoughts are prayers are with you today.

Hey all just checking in. I should be installing my new operating system now, but I'm scared I'll get lost in the matrix for the rest of the day & I have too much to do! Oh well, gotta go there sometime, might as well get it over with.

Jane Congrats on day 6! That's a great way to describe it...LEVEL. Isn't it great to feel good without being on a high? It just feels good to be on an even keel right? I will try chat again, just don't know when! Not much down time in my life right now, and when there is I'm usually posting, like now. Oh, to answer your question, I've been abs for ...gotta look at the calendar...9 weeks today, or, since it's not a baby lets just say 2 months ol

Hey Kris, good to see you! Did you get a chance to take a look at my post "of interest to artists"? It's on the GD board. Check it out ok? Hope you computer stops acting up, and happy flowering!

Kimber, glad to see that you're mindful of what's going on when you had your 2 glasses of wine, I think there's lots to learn there, so good for you! I hope your tushy troubles clear up soon.

YTH, yippie back atcha!

Phil that's amazing! Great job on that glass of wine & big congrats on 7 days! You're doin' it!

Nancy, did you write that, or did Belle your dog write it? ol !! Typing pets... my favorite thing...woof!

Later y'all!
Deirdre
