Default Day 17

Learning to trust is a key element in recovery. But it's equally important learn to trust only trustworthy people. How can we know who is trustworthy and who is not? This is tricky bussiness for some of us whose mistaken judgments in the past have blurred our present boudaries.
We don't plunge in and test the depth of unknown water with both feet. Why should we test people that way? Trust must be earned. It must be deserved.
Before trusting anyone, we must think about what is important to us, what we really want in a friend or partner, and what our boundaries are. Are they faithful to us? Do they consistently perform in little ways?

We don't owe trust to anyone. We give it as a gift...

Boy, what an appropriate post for me this morning!! Sorry you're alone again until this hour, Judie!!!

There's more drama again with my ex (talk about lack of trust and undeserved trust)--yesterday got a terse e-mail from him--"Have you discussed our personal financial situation with my father?" That's it! I haven't discussed this matter with FIL, just another fight between them. I got the skinny from my BIL--essentially things will go smoothly for a week or two then explode. I think that my ex is bi-polar, and becoming increasingly desperate as time goes by. It is very alarming and very sad. Fortunately, there is nothing for me to do, except to try and protect my daughter as much as I possibly can. She has shown no inclination to go visit him thus far, for which I am very grateful.

At any rate, except for the emotional upheaval and concern, I am basically okay. I didn't descend into a drunk or anything. I am grateful that my mother is here, because she was a tremendous support last night as all this was happening. Boy, I wish that jerk had stayed in Poland!!!

At any rate, I've got a good afternoon planned, so I'm looking forward to that!

Hugs to all,
Kathy

Hey Kathy, say hi to Mom!

Everybody else... Hope everythings ok!... catch round campus! Good day!:b

Well, work went pretty good last night, didn't have to stay till closing, since I went in @ 1:00, & it wasn't too busy for dinner. Actually got home before my boyfriend was in bed... for a change! Almost like having a date!:b On the couch...

Didn't feel like wine last nite so I had 2 lite beers. And a great chat w/Tawny & Katesm. Beautiful day, gotta go play!
Hugs, Judie

Hi, Judie, I'm here. :-)

Actually a lot of folks are here--it's amazing how many people read and don't post; you're doing a great job and I love your daily words of inspiration. I think we're working up to that full moon next Sunday.

Keep it up, darlin.

Thanks RJ!

Oh I forgot to mention something kinda humoruos...

Last night @ work ...Hubby stopped in to get his Cell phone from me. It was busy & there were a bunch of people waiting @ the front door, waiting to be seated...
So Scott says, "I'll take 1 Cell phone to go".
Of course, as I'm runnin by delivering food to a table ... I set it on the table & turn around & give him a quick kiss, then go to get his phone for him, from behind the counter....
There's a guy standing there waiting to be seated ... and kinda looking at Scott, like...????
Scott doesn't miss a beat and says, "Oh she's like that with all her customers, some day I've gotta get her name!":rollin

He's soo cute!ol :b and boy DO I love "watchin him walk away!at

Hey Judie and the rest of you guys!

Sure is a quiet weekend down here. Hope you are all doing well. Nothing much exciting here. We had alot of storms go through last night and it has been looking like rain all day today. We have been working on major spring cleaning out the kids rooms....going through clothes and toys that they have long since "out grown"! Not a fun job, but it needed to be done and it keeps me busy! Going down town tonight for an All Marching Band Parade! It is a big deal here in our town and has about 20 bands coming from all over. Should be fun. Plus they have all kinds of "junk" food vendors! Yummy!!!

Take care all and enjoy your Weekend!

Hey!
I did check in yesterday really early. Don't know if I didn't hit the Add Reply button, or what, but I see it's not there!!8o
Sorry Jude!
Good garage sale...I'm at $332 dollars so far for the Leukemia/Lymphoma society and the people loved the cookies I baked! Had the kids out there selling cold beverages, too, and that was a big hit because it was really hot out.
I gotta clean the stuff up now! Everything else is just being pitched or donated, but I'm not spending one more minute bartering with these people! (it was actually good, people were supportive of the cause).
Went out with friends last night, Karaoke'd to that Meatloaf song about the dashboard lights at the request of my buddy Phil (he and I did it together). Since I wasn't "drunk enough" it was kinda intimidating, but still fun! Not that I wanted to be "drunk enough" don't get me wrong...just kinda goes with karaoke a lot of times it seemsol . Did drink, but pretty slow pace, enough to give a headache today, so I'm laying off.
Was a pretty good week drink count wise. Not as good as last, but pretty good.
I keep at it. Very happy about a few occasions this week where I could have drank more, but made very conscious decisions to stop and redirect to doing something else and was VERY happy about that decision in the morning.
Take care, everyone!

No dramas, no domestics - in fact nothing untoward to report at all.

You're doing great, Jude.
