Hi all

Still surfing the abs wave. At least until end of the month then it is our winter break and I have 2 weeks hols. The supps and topa are on their way and I am hoping they will just reinforce what I have been doing for 37 days now. We are celebrating my decision and the end of my partners treatment for lymphoma (hopefully) with a trip to NY in Sept. But just being sober is a reward in itself. One day at a time slowly adds up to a lifetime.

Good Morning All!

Alison, 37 days, how wonderful. Congratulations! And congratulations on the end of your partner's treatment (hoepfully)! What a relief that must be for you guys!

Susan I hope you are feeling better today and that your conference went well. Even if you are not feeling better, I hope that you come here and tell us about it! The blues don't always stick the schedule we would like them to...here today, gone tomorrow!

Deirdre, I gotta tell ya, I am so impressed with how you have run the abs board this month! You have brought a whole new level of understanding and awarness here and I think it has just been great!! Thanks for all you have done!!

I am doing ok. Life continues to be challenging. I have found that I am stronger than thought in some cases, and not so strong in others. Life truly is an ongoing learning proccess. I just wish school was out for a while, ya know what I mean! ol

I hope you all have a wonderful day, and that the upcoming weekend holds exciting plans for you!

'Morning ya'll,

Day 17 here. 16 down. Veeeeeeery encouraging!

I'm hoping the Amino Complete makes it to my mailbox today. Then I'll be on EVERYTHING MWO offers. I've done the hypno cd's for the past five days. Maybe they are working 'cuz yesterday, in the shower, I thought outloud, "Hey! I don't drink anymore!" CD power or wishful thinking???

Hubbie and I were invited to spend the 4th of July in the Bahamas with friends. You guessed it. BIG drinking event... When he told me we'd been invited, I winced and said,"YK? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be buzy those days." He just chuckled and replied, "Yeah, I think I'm gonna be buzy myself."!!! How's THAT for support? (Note to self: REWARD hubbie proper!!!)

I'm not gonna avoid drinking situations forever. That'd be silly. I'm just gonna avoid them until I have 6 weeks under me... And this, ladies and gentlemen is MY WAY OUT!

HAPPY NOT HUNGOVER THURSDAY YA'LL!

Thank you, all, for your support and encouragement yesterday! It was much, much appreciated! Feeling a bit better today so I'm going to rush off and actually get to Day #3 of this seven-day conference I've been "trying" to get to since Tuesday...

There's still time for me to freak out and not go so wish me luck! I'll post later and let y'all know how it went!

Keep up the good work everyone--and thank you again!
hugs, susan

Good Morning,
For some strange reason I have not been able to access this website for 2 days. The computer freezes while accessing the site. Finally I decided to try and get to the site thru info about the site and then could get here. Just hope I can post.
After so many days in the dumps my spirits lifted enormously.
After so many days of thinking I'm a bad mother, daughter, sister, wife, neighbor, person, petowner etc...the gloom just lifted.Ihad some wine one of those nights and thought I'm even a bad my way outer.
Of course I love to analyse but for the life of me can't understand my funk. Not hormonal, weather is great, family is ok,...why....(yes Deidre I do have a birthday coming up and it's a biggie....50....but I don't think that's why. I'm closer to 50 than I was last week and I feel great). So,I'm going to blame it on the moon and forget it.
Susan, I know you haven't been feeling great and I want you to know that your philosophy of learning from the bad days and taking the good days as a reward got me through.I just kept repeating that to myself. Please know that your words kept me going. I hope your "funk" passes soon. I'm thinking of you.
Also reviewing the women for sobiety's 13 statements helped me.
I have indeed not been a model abstainer this month.I have some big events coming up this weekend with a crowd that generally loves their wine. On Sat I have decided I will not drink at the function as I have to drive and with teenagers around I have to be rock solid on that.Sunday I will deal with later... one function at a time.
Glad to be able to communicate with you all again after being exiled by my computer. Will check in later.
Have a good day all.
Janet

Hi
:o
I just joined this board, having lurked for awhile. Choosing my username was difficult...was trying for a positive thought. Hopefully, this will remind me of how I want to feel each morning. I'm a mid-forties SAHM of 3 girls, first 'baby' graduating from high school, going to university in the fall. My parents are happy alkies, who just celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss. I'm coming up to 20 this November, God willing. I have been on drugs for depression for 4 months; they finally seem to be helping. My MyWayOut starter pack arrived yesterday morning ! YEAH ! and so I'm on my 2nd day of vits/supps...not doing CDs due to finances; not doing topa due to Dr shyness. Did not drink Sat, Sun, Wed...Mon was daughter's prom night so had 1 glass of wine...Tues I had a meltdown so had 3 gl wine...way better than my past record has been! So AWESOME to find y'all...I don't feel so lonely anymore and hope to feel more powerful as time goes along...have some teenagers with issues I need to deal with but it's way easier to drink.
Happy 22nd to you all, and happy summer!

ah jane always so happy to read your posts.16 on to 17 susan so thrilled you made it to day 3 of conference and to the rest cuz i can't remember all of your names thanks for posting today. yeah another happy sober day. i actually lost count. humm i had better go back and count i'm somewhere between 10 to 15. hummm. ah well, for me i learned long ago 24 hours was my best counter. so yeahhh another day and i'm sober. and the mind gets clearer each and everyday. so glad jane you decided to not go on that trip. and let's see today i had better drink my shake. those cds i often hear in the back ground when i'm uptight. subconscious just wash that negativity away in his voice. cracking up. hahahaah and the hummock and elovator. anyway, love those cds. water one runs everynite and waves all day. hubby likes it actually. also rewarding hubby proper. he said last nite, hon i meant to tell you that you are looking good these days. hahahaa really? yes, thought i wanted to let you know and i'm proud of you for doing your program. what a guy. :d where's kirky and steve? i miss them and to the radiant one just joining. get in on the board anytime. the support and mwo works if you really wanna. and i really wanted it. happy thursday everyone.
