Default Day 29 Check In

Hi All!

Good Morning! It's a beautiful morning here! Just right for a barbeque! A MODERATE Barbeque of course!

I feel a little hypocritical saying that, of course, as I drank a whole 750 bottle of wine over the course of the day yesterday. Started around 1:30 pm as I was working around the house, and by around 10:30 pm, when I got on chat, it was all gone!:o I guess I WAS SIPPING, but still, that wasn't my plan for the day--I would have preferred to do all my work BEFORE I opened a bottle of wine. But the old "What would one glass hurt?" voices got going in my head, and I listened to them. Oh, an important point--I forgot to take all my supps yesterday, topa, allone, kudzu, everything. But, ultimately, the point of this program is to change our behavior, as well!

As I contemplate June coming up, I am thinking about a much more strict moderation plan, namely, really just drinking on social occasions when out of the house. I have a few engagements planned, and I would like to keep my drinking to those few occasions. Although I feel like I am in much better shape than I was when I started this program, I still feel like I am too close to the edge of that slippery slope, and I don't like the feeling.

Hope the rest of you did better than me, yesterday! Actually, for the most part, I had a good day and got a lot done, just drank more than I wanted to!

Hugs to all!
Kathy

Hey Kathy,
I have learned the same thing as you this month. That my plan for May was too liberal!
My June plan will consist of at least 3 alcohol free days, as I have learned I must force (sorry, harsh word...but true) myself to do those in order to not start thinking "oh, I'll just drink a bit here and there" and then all the sudden, I'm drinking 3, 4, 5 ,7, .... drinks per day!! whoa horsie!!!
Very glad it hasn't turned into anything horrible, but very aware that it could.

Sooooooooooo, not minding that I have those slowly drinking throughout the day days, but have to follow them up with clear my head alcohol free days.
Never did that before, and maybe that's part of the reason I was pickled a lot of the time?? Why it would get out of hand? The blackouts and drinking to oblivion a couple times / wk. Using the alcohol as an escape... all that stuff.
I'm so much happier now!! Marrital issues had a LOT to do with it, but getting a GRIP on HOW I was drinking is major.

Good stuff.

Tammie, you sound like you are starting to sort through things too. Take your time. You've already done a lot of the tough work!

I'm back! I didn't go anywhere, just really busy yesterday before we left @ 4:30 for our friends's dinner on Sunday.

Saturday I abs'ed and slept soooo well.

I had 4-5 drinks on Sunday? Definitely not more than 5. I drank water in between. Stomach just can't handle it though, I had a sour stomach this morning. A 2-hr mtn bike ride, and a 2-hr nap took care of that.

I'm thinking about June Mod Plan too. I have to work harder on the 3 drink limit in social situations.

I graphed my May drink data and have one interesting observation. I'll post on the moderation plan thread.

Kathy take care of that back! Sounds like you're on the home stretch with the move.

Sounds like everyone else had a great weekend too. Keep up the great work!!

Actually I guess there isn't a mods plan for June yet, just a question of who will be the Moderating PooBah for June.

Observation is this: I charted my May drink count by day of the week and found that Tuesdays were most often the weekday that I did have 1-2 drinks while trying to go 'abs' Sunday-Thurday. I thought it would be Wednesday or Thursday. But Tuesday seems to be a day I was more likely to have a couple drinks.

I'm wondering if my brain likes 2 days abs (Sun/Mon), 1 day drink (Tues), 2 day abs (Wed/Thur), 2 days drink (Fri/Sat).

That may work better for me in June than 4 abs days in a row and possibly prevent me from over doing it on Friday.
