Default Day 9! and Feeling mighty fine!!

:D Ok lets start this out with a lighter "bouquet" today...

A man was flying from Seattle to San Fransisco. The plane had a layover in Sacremento. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in one hour.

Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind. Another man had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the gentleman was blind because his seeing eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him through out the entire flight. He could also tell he had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached him, and calling him by name, said, Keith wer'e in Sacremento for an hour, would you like to get off & stretch your legs?
The blind man replied "NO" "thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs".

(PIcture this)

All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up & saw the pilot walk off the plan with a Seeing Eye Dog! The pilot was even wearing sun glasses.

People scattered... They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!ol

True story! Have a great Day! And remember ...Things aren't always as they appear!!at :p

Good Morning All!

It's beautiful here today. We had thunderstorms last night, so the sky is freshly scrubbed this morning. I'd like to try and start my day like that. Anne of Green Gables, a childhood favorite of mine, used to say "every day" was wonderful because it was new and "had no mistakes in it!" I'd like to try and look at today like that, as a chance to begin again. Right now, however, I'm going back to bed to give this day another hour or so before it officially begins!! My hands may be typing, but I'M still really asleep!!

Not sure what I'm doing drinking wise today. If I stay home, I'll be abs. If I go out with a girlfriend, I may have a drink or two, depending on the girlfriend. I've got many things to do though, so first I'm going to sleep on it!!!|I |I |I

Hugs,
Kathy

Default Day 9

Hi to all and Happy Friday, ahh yes a freshly scrubbed morning and a chance to begin again. I like it.

I posted late last night but will be busy tonight getting ready for a backpack this weekend. Haven't been since last November and looking forward to it.

Friday's are usually a day of rest for me, in terms of exercise. I need to mow tonight and pack. Hubby has to help his parents with some chores.

3 days of AF was very good for me. Feel much better this week compared to last. Will probably take 8o z of wine on the trip to have with dinner. That will be nice with dehydrated pasta dinner and smoked salmon (not bad for dehydrated and it's organic!)

My favorite kind of weekend is when I do something fun and get some chores done. So tonight will be chores night! I may be AF tonight, or I may have 1-2 beers. Have to be up very early so the 2 drink limit with dinner is a must.

Everyone have a good weekend, keep a balance of fun activities and chores!

Good morning everyone!
Boys are going to a rugby camp in Toronto this weekend and my mom is coming to stay with me this weekend to help me prepare for a charity garage sale next wknd. I'm getting ready to sell a bunch of stuff...going to donate all the money raised for the Team In Training thing- my half marathon this fall. Gotta still raise almost $3600!!! Hope people want my junkol
Well, the nice weather and my boredom bot the best of me last night. Waited until about 5:00, let the topa and my supps kick in, but then went with my "drink and hour" day. Problem was, I was up pretty late, so it ended up being lots of glasses of low alcohol wine (fruity stuff we made). Watched the clock though, and went to bed after having nice chats!
Had to get it out of my system, I guess. This weekend I will not be drinking much. Maybe a glass or two each night, actually should do AF on Sat cuz I'm scheduled to run 6 miles at 7am on Sunday morning and I certainly cannot do it feeling how I do right now.
Drink count for the week still down, so that's good. Not worried about tonight or tomorrow, having my mom here. Hubby will be gone AGAIN next wk. Will have to have this plan again, but ALL AF, not 2 out of 3. Almost made it:o . Did better than I ever have in past, even with that fruity wine last night!

Good Morning All,

Here is too a new Day! Cold and Cloudy here today...oh well the sun will return soon I am sure! I want to get my laundry done and house cleaned up so I can relax and enjoy my weekend! So that is my plan for today. This is my 7th day Alcohol Free! Still take my meds...and trying to remember to get all my supps in. I usually get the mornings in and sometimes the lunch ones...but by dinner I am so full and tired of swallowing pills that that is about all I can take:eek ! But I am doing good and it makes it easier with the kids home; even though that does add to the stress sometimes, okay alot of timesol !

Have a great day everyone!
~Tammie

Oh and yes those dehydrated foods aren't to bad! When we go canoeing into the Boundry waters and have to Pack everything in for a week that is what we take! Enjoy you Backpacking trip!

Good Morning!

I'm So glad to be here and finally feeling better. I've been AF for 3 days and hopefully will make it through the weekend.

I had a hard time adjusting to the 100mg of topa this week and spent a lot of time in a total head fog. Heavy eyelids and like my head weighed 1000 lbs. I finally adjusted. I think I'm gonna stop at 100.

I do have a very good motivation for staying AF this weekend. My beautiful 14 yr old daughter's friends' mothers have decided that she is not good enough for them. Courtney is heart broken. She doesn't know why and it pisses me off. She goes to a private school and I am very conservative. She said that these mother's think that we are white trash. Thing is, she was a millionaire the day she was born. She just doesn't know it. We live in a conservative home and are very modest. These other girls get everything they want, have their b-day parties in limos at expensive hotels, designer clothes...etc. My father has asked for us to not tell our kids about their money until they are 35 but I am the trustee of their accounts until then.

So anyway...If I get drunk...first I (or my evil twin I should say) may go bitch slap some up tight snob and that would be bad....second I may blurt out to Courtney that she has just as much as them, maybe more...and destroy my father's trust. SOOOO....it's best for me to stay sober and just PRAY FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!

It sucks to see your kids hurting!! Especially when they soooo don't deserve it and it's being perpetuated by other mother's!!

Hope

Default Day 9!

Happy 9th day!

Yes, it drizzled last night - took a bit of the dust out of the air and then literally deposited the cottonwood flowers everywhere. While I can feel the allergies already kicking in it is soooo much better than the sand storms!

Funny story Jude and yes, things are not always as they seem!

Kathy, I Loved Anne of Green Gables!

Great job everyone else! enjoy the weekend!!

Hope, I too sent my boys to private schools and at one point literally was eating eggs to make it through so I could pay for their tutition. Thing is I left the money behind so I could leave the VI with them, then a few years later, married a guy that together we have done some extra ordinary real estate deals. Because we are cash poor often, my biz keeps the guys afloat while doing their doctorates, youngest was just accepted into pharmacy school for this fall, at 19 . . . . this is unheard of! What I am trying to say is, there were many women like you are talking about and there were times that my sons just weren't cool enough for that particular set of kids. The deal is NOW my guys are beating the socks off these other kids because they are these 4.0 kind of guys, still quite cool as in state sport champions, triatheletes and girls all over them sooo - while her heart is breaking at the moment. she gets to win in the end especially with your (big secret!) I usually pointed out to my boys that these kids were at the disadvantage as everything was handed to them on a platter and they don't know how to go do it themselves. You know . . ."God bless the child who has his own!"

In the end the boys will have quite an inheritance of real estate coming to them. If we don't spend it all traveling ourselves!! :rollin

OK, had a glass of wine with dinner last night. (Kind of old, not that great, used some of it for shrimp scampi, so it took me almost 3 hours to get through it.) I am going home and having a kudzu and L-glutamine before dinner - seems to cut down on the cravings.

I am meeting some girlfriends for dinner this evening, I think I may have a glass of wine as it is at a restaurant started by a champagne company out here. Wine is not the problem drink for me though, it is the rum so will NOT go there this evening.

Hugs to all,
Mary

Hey ya'll!

Looking like another beautiful day in the neighborhood here...

Tawny:Blotting, as I type...

Kathy: maybe you absorbed some of your sleepiness thru osmosis off the puter from my last post! I was litterally nodding off @ the screen before I went & crawled in last night! |I

Lois: I used to do a lot of "self support" kayak trips when I lived in Colorado. It was soo neat to bring everything you needed for 4 or 5 days, all in your kayak and head downstream...kinda like backpackin, but diff. much easier on your feet! Sucks when you get carried away playing in a wave & miss a roll... and have to swim & your boat stays in a hole, in the middle of the river, with all of your food & bedding for the week in it! I never said I was most "LOGICAL"ol or SAFE!... :rolleyes )Also I always had my "box of wine in there! just w/out the box! Those milar bags are strong! And make good pillows!

Becca: Garage sale? Hey we've got tons of junk in our garage from last Fall! Can ya come & get it? We'd love to donate it!!

Tammie: "A clean house is the sign of a wasted life"...HA!ol That's my excuse! That & too many dogs & too much work, gotta play sometime.. doesn't leave much time for cleanin! .....LATER!:b At least I have my priorities!ol

Hope: Are you exercising, while you're uping your topa dose? I know it can make you tired & thats the last thing you feel like doing, but if you can just get your blood pumping it might help.. even if it just for a few minutes here & there...
Gosh I know how mean 14 yr old girls can be... that just sucks! It really sucks that the MUTHERS are encouraging that behavior, I had some really tuff times in high school... small town BS....boyfriends/girfriends/popularity....BS It can be heart wrenching...

Mary: Cubalibra? boat drinks? A woman after my own heart! We'd better keep our distance if we're ever @ the same party!!ol

I just got a couple of hilarious E-mails from my Mom in Law! She's a nut! They are wayy too long to type & have cartoons! I have a couple of your E- mail addresses, I'll forward them to . If anyone else would like let me know. they're worth sharing!

Here's a sample of one:

"I want it all and I want it delivered by a cute, naked man"

"Being a Crabby Bitch is part of my Charm"

"Amazingly enough, I don't Give a @#%$"

"Please take a number & stick it up your Ass"

"I'm still hot, it just comes in flashes now"

"Admitting your an @#%$ is the first step"

"Even my shrink says it's all your F****n fault" (just for you Kathy!)

That's great Judie!!! I love it! Yeah I do need to get some more excercise.

Becca...I'm having a garage sale next month but only to purge my house...i'm drowning in crap! Trouble is...girls never want to part with anything!!!

Well Tammie I'm with you...I like my house at least de-cluttered so I can relax.

I'm having a nap attack though...

Hope
