Default Day One

Welcome to the June Abs event everyone!! Or should I say welcome to the "Surf Board" !!

Newbies! Congratulations on taking the first step towards your abstinence or moderation goal! You'll find lots of support here, so if there are any questions or concerns you wish to have addressed, please post them! Let the group know how you're doing & stay close to the boards. You've got great company here!

Everyone else who's continuing abs, or jumping back into it, Aloha!!

For anyone who doesn't have the book, or just wants a handy reminder, please refer to the thread on this board called "Program Basics" where you'll find Donna's excellent summary of...you guessed it...all the basics of the program.

I urge everyone to make use of these tools as best you can, they are there to help us get through the hardest part of this journey. Also, read the book, read the boards, post, send ez box messages, find a buddy. It helps tremendously to come here and vent, find much needed support, laugh, and read your story in other's posts. Hey, if you don't know by now, you're not alone!!

Im happy to say I've been alcohol free for 7 weeks now, and it's been quite an amazing journey. I don't know if I ever could have come this far without this program & this site's support. This is not a brag folks! It's to remind you that I was on day one not long ago myself.

So let's get this party started! Let us know which aspects of the program you're doing, or plan on doing. The trickiest one may be our best tool...determination! It can be elusive at times, so grab hold and nourish it with all the good stuff this program provides.

Wishing you all the best as we begin this June journey!

Deirdre

P.S. Thanks to Donna & RJ for helping me get this event started!

Good Morning All,

Hard to believe June has finally arrived! It came in with quite a bang in my neck of the woods with storms knocking out my internet access last night. I must say I was at quite a loss as to what to do! I have it back, but am still without my wireless connection and laptop so I am clunking away on the children's computer...yes I am quite spoiled indeed!

At any rate I wanted to wish everyone well as we get started on this fine June day. Keep your goals forever in the front of your head, and as Deirdre pointed out, stay close to the boards, truly you will find great support here!

Off for a walk with my dog. Have a great day one all!

Donna

PS Deirdre, I love that quote! I am going to copy it and put it on the fridge. Thanks!

Good morning and Happy June 1st!

My goal this month, on top of remaining abs, is to get more into and exercise routine. My dog would love it as well if I take her out walking more often. I also have equipment inside for rainy or really hot days.

I also need to refresh on the CD's. I haven't listened in a couple weeks.

Here's to a productive June, I hope everyone meets their goals.

Happy day one everyone.
It feels good to be trying again.
Yesterday I had four beers instead of the usual 8 t o12. Wow, I woke up feeling good instead of groggy and guilty.
It should just get better, right?
Peace and Love,
phil

Hi all and good luck to everyone. Doing really good with the exercise this week, went on a 2 hour hike Tuesday night as well as walking the dogs every morning. Have not really gotten into the cd's so will have to work on that this month.

Hi All,

I'm finally back, well I never really left, just not posting. Always reading... always hoping. Anyway, I like soooo many others here, have tried and failed horrendously at moderation. I am abstinent and plan to stay here. Have not had a drop since May 22nd. I am off Topa since I was drinking so heavily on it anyway. Am now on Antabuse since I don't trust myself anymore. I, like Southernbelle, live with a drinker too. My hubby has a serious problem with alcohol but won't try anything for it. I need to stay clearheaded so I can make important life decisions for me and my family.

Thanks to all who've kept up this thread. It truly is a life giving source of comfort to many. As long as we're breathing, there is hope.

Blessings,
Lori
