Default falling asleep to cd's

Does anyone else have this problem? I am relaxed, in a quiet room, usually at the end of the day, or even in the middle of the day when my baby is taking a nap, concentrating, and I fall asleep within the first 5 minutes of any cd. It's great, because I do get some great rest, but am I getting the benefits? I guess I must be, with the exception of once, I have been abstinenct for 6 weeks. I would like to hear an entire cd once though. I have heard bits and pieces, but never once through on either the clearing or hypno's.

Hi Not,

You are not alone, many people have that problem. I would have to agree that you are not getting the full benefit of the cds if you are falling asleep during them. Are you trying to listen to the whole cd in one sitting. If so, try breaking it up into two sessions. This should help. Let us know how it goes!!

Default falling asleep to cds

i wanted to let you know as a licensed clinical hypno gal that i am. some of us about one in 5 are very susceptible to hypnotherapy. that is actually good news. that means that you are one person that will benefit greatly from the cds if you can keep yourself from snoring. so that means you can't lay down while listening to cds. there is a fancy term for those of us who are very receptive. what you need to do is sit up and when you feel yourself getting very very relaxed just adjust yourself slightly not much. and it is actually okay if you allow yourself to go so under at times that you don't remember things as long as it isn't the cd that you have to put in the suggestions yourself. that you must stay alert for. the others remember you are taking it in on a very deep level. congrats. we are lucky lucky. we are easily tranced

Wow thanks for finally clearing that up Kimber! I know a lot of people on the boards have been wondering about this exact thing! That's great info! I fall asleep too sometimes (no snoring of course - I'm too sexy for that! ol ) I just figured the messages were still entering my subconscious so I didn't worry about it. But yes, the part where yo give yourself suggestions I realized wouldn't be effective if i was sleeping! Anyway, I think you should post this on General Discussion too, so everyone gets a chance to read it. What do you think?

No Kidding!

Thanks Kimber! This is very good info indeed! I am with Deirdre on this. So many are wondering this same thing. Hey Deirdre, Perhaps you could at least somehow add it to the program thread...Maybe see what RJ thinks. What do you think?

So glad to hear somebody else is having the same problem with the cd's, I think there has only been one time I tried listening to them that I stayed awake!! That one time was during the day, since then I usually do them at night and I guess I am just too tired. Will give them another try using the techniques suggested, thanks.
