Thanks so much for this post on L-Glutamine. I just started using it because the other medical options had to many side effects. I have to say it's helping a lot and not just with my alcohol cravings. The problem I've always had when I stop drinking is I start eating sweets like crazy instead. The L-Glutamine is really helping with that. I actually turned down dessert on Valentines Day!

thanks again for all the info! I got my L-glut powder yesterday. It says 1 scoop is 5 g. I think I remember someone saying that 5 g. is a good dose (or similar to the 3,000 mg. dosage) So I will be taking 5 g. mixed with water, in one gulp, first thing in the morning, 1/2 hr. before lunch and then around 3:00 (witching hour and also my hungriest timeframe).

Hi Green,
Glad you got the L-Glut. I take the same dosage as you at about the same time but I wait about 2 hours before lunch because, according to bodybuilding.com, it's better to wait at LEAST 1/2 hour before or after eating for the Glut. to be the most effective. It is apparently most effective on an empty stomach. When I am really craving sweets (like now, because I have been AF 4 days), I take it 4 times per day with the 4th time before bed, because that's when I'm craving ice cream (which I usually never eat). |
