Unhappy feeling very scared...

I dont know how i got so far into this...im up to 750ml of vodka a night, im having health problems, im having pain in my pancreas so i try to stop drinking but i just recently started getting very uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms...very anxious...shaky all over....I have to drink to make it go away. The heartburn is becoming more powerful and constant...im going to see my doctor first thing next week.

Hi Chris
I can't advise you in any way- but am happy to hear that you are going to your doctor soon. Welcome- it is sometimes a bit slower on the boards on the weekend, but this is a good place to start.
Take care

Hi Chris,

A warm welcome!!

Have you read the book yet? I highly recommend it!! Like Sheep says things are a bit quiet over the weekend but when I first started it helped by reading through the posts and getting alot of advice that way.

Wishing you all the best for the Dr's appointment next week.

Dee

P.S. A natural remedy for heartburn is to eat a banana

Chris,

So glad you are going to a doctor. You must be careful about alcohol withdrawal.

It is weird, but alcohol withdrawal is more dangerous than any other drug.

I sure wish the advertisements said that.

Glad you are here and take good care.

We will be here for you.

Love,
Cindi

Dear Chris, welcome to the site. Your first statement is something I have asked myself often. I don't think "how we got so far into this" is as important as the fact that we are now trying to do something about it. I'm glad you found the site and I hope it is able to help. It's good that you plan on seeing your dr next week. Please let us know how you make out. Will be thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Cucks

P.S. Look forward to seeing you on the boards.

Hi Chris,

I agree with all the above posters. My word of caution is to go ahead and do it. I avoided quitting for way too long because of not only the addiction itself, but because of the awful withdrawal symptoms. It only prolongs the misery and increases the damage. Good luck and hang in here with us!

Welcome!

There is some information on the Need Help ASAP section about withdrawal. Some people need a doctor's help, some prescriptions, to make it through and it sounds like this may apply to you. So you are doing the right thing by seeking medical help.

Good luck and report back to us what happens.

Chris,
Sorry you are having the "shakes". That's what starting me drinking in the morning- I knew that I had to have some AL to stop shaking. When I started drinking in the morning I knew I needed help and found this site; luckily I didn't get too far into that morning drinking before I came here. The people on this site will be a great source of strength and support for you if you decide to stay. There is no judgement here-only genuine concern and care. The Dr visit is crucial for you because withdrawal symptoms are nothing to mess with, as cindi says. Have you purchased RJs book? It is a quick read and goes through the entire program in detail. Good luck over the weekend- I look forward to your future posts. kriger
