Default I'm back and still crawling

I was active about a year ago here but my wine habit has snuck up on me ... I have been averaging a bottle a day ... I am 5'4 and have put on 15 pounds lately b/c of my bad habits... so why do I want to quit? Some reasons:

1. My face is red and blotchy
2. I am tired of hiding it from my boyfriend
3. I smell
4. I spend too much money
5. I have become a sloth
6. My work has suffered
7. I have zero muscle tone because I drink all weekend and watch tv
8. I am depressed
9. I pass out and don't brush my teeth (gross)
10. I am turnng 40 in 4 weeks! I want to start fresh!
Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!! Liz (I don't want to smell anymore)

You have plenty of reasons to give up the booze, I too have experienced most of them. I'm still working
on the weight loss, I wish you luck and know that you can do it because if I can you can also.
Best wishes Paula.

Welcome back.
You know it baby so go kick that AL out of your life. If you can do it once you can do it again.
Make it your 40th present to yourself. Every single one of those things you mention will dissappear so quickly once you get on a roll. Why not try 30 days AF to kick start you before your b day.
I am on day 15 and loving it......
My friends all hate me though as I am turning into an evangelistic non drinker non smoker but at least I dont smell!

Hi there Stillcrawling. I'm 40 in 6 weeks and feel pretty much the same as you except no. 3 (well at least I dont think I do). I have a bottle (or 2) wine a day habit that I want to kick and hit the fortis healthy.

Keep checking in. I am determined to.

Every message I read has something to remind me of myself. I guess i did smell as well.

When you list the stuff it really makes you realise what we are doing to ourselves.

Take it easy - day by day - baby steps and you can do it.

Think of the birthday. Good luck from another newbie

hie stillcrawling, if you can do it today since its today which matters, if you manage to stay sober today its a prove that you can do it the 1000th day.
you are lucky to have a chance to realise this and option to make a choice.
you can do it

Unhappy

today my face is red and blotchy, i am hungover, i struggled to get to work, i did one day without the booze and last night it called me and i obeyed... again. I know I am going to ruin everything if I dont stop or at least moderate it, but its just that first time will power I need to not drink. I do stupid things when I am drunk, I drew eyelashes on the dog with a marker pen, he has a white face with a patch and now he has pretty eyelashes. I want to stop and dont seem able to. any advice?
