    Putting the Hammer Down

How 'bout this for 51 year old ex-boozer and cigarette addict. All
goes to show, if you keep at it, the damage and destruction will
    slowly heal.

Over two years of cross-training work. This is from a Garmin 305
screen dump, and footpod on a treadmill. The red line is my heart
rate over the 30 minute workout window. Last 5 minutes are cool
down at slower pace. This is interval training.

Of particular note, is the recovery ramps from peak heart rates, down
to lower heart rates. Much, much faster. Note peak heart rate of
187 bpm. That would have resulted in emergency room two years ago
for me. Also, two sprints of about 1/4 mile each at 9 mph. The
second sprint was where I peaked the heartrate. Even a year ago,
the recovery rate would have been twice as slow. This data just
motivates the hell out of me. 10K for 2008!!!!
