Hi Everyone: Today I hit 100 AF days in a row. I feel like I'm putting the old life behind me. The cravings & urges are less & less frequent. Even crises are manageable wo/alcohol.

I think that on Oct. 6th, I decided that I just had to stay sober for that day. I did the same for the following days. I took it one day at a time. I can now look into an AF future & feel fine. But in the beginning, that was way too intimidating.

I'll never stop feeling renewed, revived, & grateful for my sobriety. I guard it w/everything I have. I've had some major slips during 2007, & I want those to be a lesson for me (not something I'm ashamed of).

I could not be saying all this wo/MWO. This is why I'm sober today. Mary

I modded last night and ended up a bit tipsy. arg. not terrible but not great. feel fine today but a bit demure in mood as I digest my feelings about last night. I will NOT be drinking today and I'm fine with that decision.

Just wanted to add, as my grandsons walk out the door, that one more thing I truly appreciate about MWO and my efforts to stay sober -- as you know not nearly as successful as you but determined to get there -- I am so eternally grateful for every chance I get to be with them sober.

A sober, happy granny sure is a lot better than the silly, sloshed, stupid granny!!

(And, the grandkids deserve it!!)

Cindi: You're setting such a good example for them & your kids too. We're practicing what we preach. I just spoke to my son (who has had his problems w/pot in the past), & he volunteered that his life has changed since he stopped smoking it. He has much more clarity. That's a good thing. He's made a lot of mistakes (as we all have), but is now trying to move forward into a different future. Thank you, Cindi, for your friendship...you aren't that far behind me. And in spite of our slips, we came back to MWO for another try at sobriety. We can't get sober by staying away. That to me is tantemount to admitting defeat. Good luck...you sound great. Mary
