    Sweet and Sour Relish

Skewer the onions and peppers and brush them with oil. (I use toothpicks because they are small and cheap) You want to grill them hot, until they are charred but still a bit crip. Around 10 min or so, roughly.
Coarsely chop all the onions, and slice all the peppers (don?t forget to peel the peppers).
Add the cider vinegar, light brown sugar, both mustards, caraway and turmeric (everything except the onions/peppers, cornstarch, salt, and pepper) to the saucepan.
Heat that stuff over medium heat until it simmers nicely.
Add in everything that?s left except the corn starch mixture (and the salt and pepper, that goes last).
You?ve gotta stir it quite a bit.
Once it has reduced a bit (10 - 15 min or so, depending on your heat and whether you burned it because you didn?t stir enough) mix in the cornstarch mixture (give the mixture a quick stir before you add it, to keep it from clumping when you put it in the hot yummies).
Cook that for a couple of minutes, then finish it with any salt and pepper.
    That?s it.

    "sweat" and sour??
    Isn't that kinda redundant?

No they are just sweet onions. They are just onions that are grown where there is very little sulfur in the soil. They are sweet enough to be eaten like an apple. The best ones are Vidalia Onions that are grown in Georgia.

I'm not sure about the Cornstarch bit.

Yep, (and this is from another antipodean) cornstarch is the same as cornflour.
                Codemonkey - recipe sounds yummy!
