I was afraid my doc wouldn't prescribe it also. I dropped of the lancet article a few days before my appt. She talked to me about other options also, but she did end up prescribing it. She talked to me about AA and rehab, but I was honest and said I wanted to try this route first. While I didn't get to take it because I ended up having liver issues. I would never have known about my health issues if I hadn't went to see her and had blood tests. I would try to see your doctor before you look at other ways to obtain topa. While its hard to put your 'dirty laundry' out on the table for your doc, they are only there to help.
