    Easy Home-Made Ice-Cream

Using a large bowl, beat evaporated milk until firm peaks form (about 8-10 minutes).
Gradually add sugar beating well between each addition so sugar is dissolved.
Add gelatine slowly and mix well.
Pour into 2 litre container with lid and freeze until set.

PS: You don't need to re-beat. This takes only a couple of hours to set until ready to use. Very light and creamy. Have a taste before pouring into containers and add more vanilla essence if you think it is necessary. Other flavours may be substituted if you prefer.

C'mon ladies (and gents) I hope there is plenty of ice cream action going on.

I will give you a list of ideas of flavours to get you in the mood -

Add cocoa powder for chocolate flavour

Add crushed Oreos for cookies and cream

    Add M & M's and peppermint essence

    Add crushed Maltesers

    Add crushed strawberries

    Add mashed banana

You could even do a vanilla, strawberry, chocolate layered Neopolitan effect (I did this and doubled the initial recipe to make a kind of ice-cream birthday cake - remember to line the container with gladwrap or greaseproof paper for ease of removal)

    COME ON!

PS - Do not forget to chill your evaporated milk in advance. Thank you.

        That's great Hilary!

Just a reminder for all you budding ice cream makers -

When adding flavouring/M&Ms etc make sure you fold them in. Be aware of trying to keep hold of your bubbles. Try not to lose the air you incorporated in the whisking.

Good luck Hilary. Let us know how you went.

Bluey - may I say ... I've been reading foodie magazines and it seems that chocolate and chili is the currently fashionable way to go.

I shall give it a whirl.
