I have posted this in response to to a question I got on another thread. I thought I'ld retype it so that a larger audience could see it. It has to do with Cleveland departing to Baltimore and becoming the Ravens. "Oh yes, been through that with many a Cleveland fan. It's not the way we wanted to get a team.....but all the back stabbing with Jack Kent Cook (owner of the Redskins ) and Paul Taguelabue ( Football Comish. ) it just turned out that way. You were lucky....you got a team and kept your name in a couple years. Baltimore, had to wait 13 years to get what was taken away from them (Colts). It all had to do with Cook not wanting a team in Baltimore so he could hog the whole market. Paul T. was an attorney in Cook's law Firm (Old buddies !) He wanted to make sure that his buddy got his way. That's why their is so much anomosity between the 2 cities. Plus they both play in Maryland. The Redskins should be called the Maryland Redskins, not Washington !" Ha! IAD.
