Nancy, I have read it and although it seemed a little strange at first, I really, really loved it. Makes you change the way you think about God! It Throws out those religious images that have nothing to do with who He really is, and gives us a little insight into understanding tragedy. Fabulous book!

I've read it and loved it too ... check out the authors true story by googling him on the net. Very interesting, almost more than the book.

I read it last month. It really caught me because I have had "The Great Sorrow" for eight years now, (my son was killed in a car crash).

The book really helped me think some things through. Although the "Great Sorrow has become so deeply embedded through out my mind and heart, that I still struggle. It really does put a cloud over the rest of life and living...I do recommend the book.

I'm reading this now and I'm finding it enjoyable...hmmm...however. It is but one interpretation of God and I find that limiting. I'm not a theologist so I won't delve into that too much but the writing is a bit simple. I don't know, it's almost as if someone wrote it for middle-schoolers. There's nothing wrong with that but I thought it was a book written for adults.

I loved the beginning, it seemed like a good mystery to me. I'm in the middle now and don't care for the turn it's taking. I do, however, like the idea the author is trying to make, that God may not "look" like a white male with a beard.

I wish I could put my finger on it but I can't right now. I guess the bottom line is this-for me, I can put it down with no problem and I don't like that in a book. It just isn't grabbing me at all. The ultra-sad subject matter at the beginning of the book isn't tackled enough for me.

                  Just another opinion!

I'm in the middle of it, I'll let you know what I think when I finish. I do think it would be a good book for perhaps a jr High/high schooler. My 5th grader thinks he wants to read it, but I think it will be a little over his head.

I'm still reading it. I like it. It was written for his children so it makes sense that it may seem to be written for a younger audience. I don't believe he intended it for an audience in the first place did he? I was put off by Celestine Prophecy because it seemed to be written for a child. I can't remember now if I ever finished it.

He did write this for his children....but then God did say that "unless we come as a child."..
