so i went to my long awaited appt to get nal at the least and hopefully bac. nadda! she was not willing to really read the studies i had printed nor listen, said it was way beyond her scope. prescribed me atarax (non benzo), prozac, and xanax(benzo). this is not good. spent the next hour and a half trying to find an addiction specialist who knows about TSM. no luck at all. HELP. apparently no one has ever heard of it. i am at the end of the line here peeps. i live in upstate ny, near albany. anyone can help me out here?:thanks:

Sorry to hear of your situation. A lot of doc's just don't get it, or really simply aren't educated about addiction. Hang in there friend! There will be a lot of folk here who will come along soon to give you some pointer's.
Is there a drug and al advice line you could ring that may have some local info for you?
Read the 'Toolbox' thread here in the meantime. It's in the 'monthly abstinence' section, and great reading.

Please try the TSM site. it has all the info you will need. I have not been able to get Nal from the doc nor has a lot of people and they also prescribe it for abstinence which is not how it is working for the TSM forum. I have got my Nal from all day chemist, as has a lot of people and we take it one hour before we drink. Please get the book a cure for alcoholism and go to The Sinclair Method website and learn all you need to know. good luck
