Here is the message I was trying to post:

Very interesting, Lo0p. A few years ago Ameisen published an article that hypothesized a conncection between GHB (a neurotransmitter) and alcoholism. The article can be accessed at http://alcalc.oxfordjournals.org/cgi...t/agm058v1.pdf. Interestingly, GHB like baclofen is a GABA(B) agonist. His theory is that alcoholism might be due in part to a defieciency in this naturally occuring chemical. I recently visited my GP to obtain a RX for baclofen, and brought this article with me. I aked if there was test for GHB and he did not know of one.

I poked around some more and found a book preview that includes a very interesting discussion of baclofen and GHB.
