    Pinksters Just going for it in January 2012

    Happy 2012
    Had some great success following the 12wbt plan. Lost 9.6kilos and managed to run 5.5k in 35mins (though on day one couldn't even run for one minute)
    Had 3 weeks off, with AL, chocs, and little exercise and am seeing the pounds piling back on
    so no more

    I am making my pledge to be AF for January, back to eating clean and lean and back to 6 days a week exercise.
    Anyone fancy joining me? :thanks:

    I am definitely joining you Glam.
    I also vow to be AF for Jan, exercise 6 days a week & eat clean.

    I haven't been here for a while, thought I was doing ok but have been drinking way to much.

        Day 2 AF, 4 mile run & clean eating done! What a relief to be back.

        Have been feeling poisoned from all of the wine etc over Christmas but couldn't stop myself.
        Am back to work tomorrow & the kids still on school hols so will have to plan & prepare the food & exercise.

        Day 3 here we come Glam! Anyone else going to join us?

          I'm going to live vicariously through you for a while.
          Hope you don't mind.
          I am allergic to exercise, it makes me break out in a sweat.
          I am going to be Af and eat better.

            SJ and Glam, here I come !!!

            Both of you have turned your life around last year and are quite inspirational.

            My biggest challenge (well, apart from getting on to day 1 AF) is finding time to exercise. I will be on holiday for 2 weeks (sunny South America) and I plan to take full advantage of the hot weather - running / swimming every day.

            I shall try to incorporate small routines each day for stretching and posture every day ( since my job keeps my behind glued to my chair).

            Healthy eating is something I enjoy anyway ? I find that my own cooking is the best for losing weight, restaurant food just messes things up.

            Keep it up ladies and wish you all a fit New Year.

              Hi Shue, lovely to have you along for our exciting January ride. Your holiday sounds great, a good start to lots of exercise.

              I am on Day 3 & doing ok but going through a cranky stage.

                hi welcome Wally, as the saying goes, every journey starts with one small step. Just incorporating one small thing a day builds to life changing habits.
                On day one of the 12wbt (Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation) I honestly thought I was going to keel over after one minute on the tread mill. You can imagine the total euphoria I felt running that 5.5k and the best thing was knowing I could have continued a while longer.

                What I do know is that in order to loose the remaining 10k to get to my goal weight I have to be AF.

                So day 3 AF and counting.

                  Day 2, here I come!!

                  This morning I was late for work but I had my most favorite cardio workout ? up the snowy path with dog + kid then down on the sledges at full speed. The adrenaline rush was awesome.

                  Will do posture / stretching in the office later.

                  How are you girls doing at your end?
                  workaholic, shoeaholic and yes ... alcoholic

                    Wow Shue that sounds like a great way to start the day!

                    Morning Glam, how is Day 4 for you? I have no doubt you will get through those last 10kgs, you have done amazingly.

                    Wally how are you doing?

                    Day 4 for me & doing ok, feeling better each day. My cranky stage has passed I hope but what I realise now is that I have to ride with it & not give in everytime it all gets a bit uncomfortable. Life is full of ups & downs and I need to continue to find ways of coping with them that doesn't involve a bottle of merlot. Exercise & healthy eating are the top of my list. Eating all wrong, not exercising enough & AL every night over the last few weeks has resulted in high blood pressure & an extra 7 pounds.
                    Am back on track 100% now & plan to stay there.

                      Hi All

                      I did really well on the dukan and managed to keep the small weight loss off. Family life is a little crazy at the moment so I am struggling to organise my food and exercise. Got to the gym today but that was the first day since Saturday. I think I will be happy to lose that last 3kg.

                      Gym tomorrow but can't make Friday but will do double on Saturday and then Monday. I find it frustrating as I would exercise seriously hard nearly everyday if I had the opportunity. I feel that I won't get back on track until the kids return to school in Feb.

                        Hi Shue, that sounds a fabulous way to exercise to me! It all counts towards the calorie burn.

                        Sarah, with your hectic social life its no wonder you have regained some weight, I would seriously be back at square one, as in previous years. At least this year we are both at a better start point and I'm sure are fitness levels will be back to where we left them at the end of 12wbt.
                        Day 4 for me is going well. Last night I was home alone while hubby was at footie and the girls were out. There were two open bottles of wine, one of each. They have been hanging around since New Years Eve and I honestly wasn't tempted. I did have a "roses" chocolate and a mini-toblerone choc (which isn't like me as I'm not a choc fan) - but stayed clear of the champagne liquors as I will honour my pledge to be 100% AF for Jan!
                        Elaq - well done on keeping off the weight from Dukan. SJ and I both tried it but I have to confess to putting back all the weight I lost. My girls are back at school tomorrow so I'm booked in for 3 classes
                        pilates, body step and body pump, then Friday I am aiming to achieve a 1000 calorie burn!

                          Hi Pinksters!! I have had my best successes with with you ladies, so I would love to join the gang again. I am currently on day three A/F and will commit to doing my rebounding six days a week along with clean eating and juicing.

                          Riding the urges is my new mode of success. I don't push them down; I challenge them and feed them cookies... oooops... it works though. Sometimes i think my urge for wine is confused with my urge for sweets. The Christmas baking is 99% gone so by Monday I should have no junk in the house. Shortbreads and ginger cookies are my weaknesses.

                          So happy to be here and looking forward to an A/F January.

                            Day 5 & doing fine. Still feeling a bit up & down & a bit tired but will ride it out. No exercise today as too busy, off to a wedding now. Hope they have lots of fizzy water!

                              Hi Tips, great to have you on the Pinksters thread again. Congrats on day 3 AF.
                              I found I had the best success being AF here too. My drinking has never gone back to the stage it did before joining MWO, but I really want to do January AF and know if I have to come here and confess it will keep me on the straight and narrow.
                              Day 5, doing fine.
                              Well done SJ - you have had so much socialising, would have been so easy for you to say you would go AF once the wedding was over, but here you are on Day 5 and I think you are fantastic.
                              Ellaq, hope things are going well with you?

                              Made it to the gym today, first time since before Christmas.
                              I did pilate, step and body pump. I was hesitating before I went, then just decided I had to JFDI
                              and I am so glad I did. 600 cal burn.
                              Hoping the weight will be down tomorrow. Just having grilled chicken and veg for tea.

                              Be back tomorrow to check on all you Pinksters.
