Hi Guys, thought i'd start a new thread on things we are grateful for
I am grateful for my amazing GF, my family and all of the good luck i have in life.
Please post below if u have things u are grateful for
I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.

Im very grateful for assembled pieces of plastic and aluminium, with two black round things attatched at the bottom, that go really really fast on racetracks!!!!

And all the people, and the incredible information they part with on this here board, in helping me stay AF for a period longer than I ever dreamed.

Thank you to each and everyone, no matter how big, or how small your contribution.

I'm grateful for my family, this board and Girl Scout Samoa cookies Also agree 100% with Jolie about waking up guilt free and with a clear conscience. I think that is the best part of being AF.

                I am grateful for:

-My daughter...she's proud of her ol' mom! I don't have to see that "look" in her eyes anymore
-My renewed relationship with my HP
-My extended family, they don't know the extent of my disease, but they've always been supportive
                -My lovely home
-My 3 dogs...even though at the moment they are flea-ridden, stink and hog the bed! LOL
-My job, which I don't LOVE, but don't really mind, and it pays the bills!
-My car, that keeps on going even though I neglect it (working on this)
-Waking up without guilt, shame or anxiety
-Good sound sleep...not falling into bed unconscious
-Hangover free days...really appreciating weekends now!
                -The Library...free books! LOL

                The list goes on...
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

These are such lovely, inspiring messages. My first thought when I saw the thread was, "I am grateful not to have to drag a trash bag bursting with empty cans and bottles outside every day, sometimes twice a day." The trash production from this household has been cut by two-thirds. Go sober, go green!

                          I am grateful for....

My small but cozy, warm little house.

                          A fridge full of food.

                          My newly rediscovered psychic intuition.

                          My spiritual classes

                          My Like Minded friends.

My 3 superb, wonderful, beautiful Children.

My partner who is now 6 weeks AF.

The fact I do not miss Booze.

The fact I do not miss Smokes.

The fact that I am entering my 40's free from addiction (cept for Chippers and Facebook

The fact my kids have never seen me drunk.

The fact I am now happy because I am content rather than happy because I am drunk.

The fact I am now driving and own my own little car(crock)

The fact I look better and people comment on it.

                          My AMAZING friends on here.

The heartbreaking and exhilarating things that have happened to me over the years, They all taught me valuable lessons.

The people who have moved in and out of my life, some are gone, some remain, some were wonderful, others mean and selfish, some taught me how to live and others thought me who I didn't want to be and to examine those traits within myself.

To my alcohol addiction, yes, I am grateful, without it, I would not understand pain, longing, shame, yearning, strength, guilt, fear and triumph.

MWO, without this place I would not be sober.

My books, they are my constant, dear friends.

My family, I love and appreciate you all, even the ones who don't love me.

For myself, the person, I have become and the person I want to be, I have a LONG way to go but at least I am heading in the right direction.

I am also grateful to feel REAL gratitude for the simple things, I had always overlooked them before.
