12 mths and one day ago.

12 mths ago, I woke up with very little idea about where I was and what was happening. I very quickly found out that I was in Rehab. 12 mths later and I have managed not to go back. I have had a couple of slips through the year but nothing lasting longer than two or three days and I have managed to drag myself out of it both times.

It's a tiring fight but one that is worth winning.
I refuse to be labelled or ashamed. Through my struggles I am achieving self awareness and clarity.

Keep up the good work Dave.

I am learning and understanding now, that i need an 'active' toolbox this time around. That is, daily rituals that work for me. Meditation and running for starter's. I have recently incorporated AA into my toolbox. Whilst i'm not a daily 12 stepper (as yet) or attend every day (i try for once a week minimum), I find the face to face meetings raw, real, humbling, inspirational, and i leave my silly ego at the door. This site is great of course too.

Best wishes on your journey mate.

I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.
