Good morning Fab abbers,

It sure looks like spring is here – most of the snow is gone from my garden but the mountains still look glorious snowcapped. I also loooove getting more hours of sunshine !!! It is so nice not to wake up in the dark.:sun:

I made a pot of strong French roast, I have a feeling we will need it this Monday morning. Sugarbeat – the decaf is on the side for you.
No treats today, TND outdid herself yesterday. :strawberry::award::strawberry:

One of the joys of doggie spring (beside poop patrol, oh Sunni, they boys refuse to help me on this one) is the fact that all sorts of dead things emerge in the woods after the thaw. After his Sunday bath my dog found something very dead on this morning walk and rolled in it with gusto … I tried to scrape it off with snow … oh, man, it was just too icky for words. I drove back with all windows down, but still the smell … so my car is now at the specialist cleaning (for the umpteenth time, BTW) – and I am seriously considering buying one of those trailers they use for horses.

Sugar – I read your last posts over and over, now I am no specialist at this but you do seem to have turned the corner – stay there, no matter what, I am rooting for you!!!! ::yougo:::yougo:


TND – I meant to ask you, how did the slow roast beef turned out? Was hubby pleased?

Sunny – I have been performing the “sacred spring ritual” for the last 3 weekends ( the snow melted gradually + big dog = big … oh well)

Blondie – how was the shop trade this weekend? Drop by for coffee and a chat.

Lav – how’s the egg production this morning?

Sunni- after reading shue's post, I'm grateful to only have poop patrol.

Papmom- I need a different job as well. There may be another move in our future so I hate to spend the time and energy then transfer.

Shue- thanks for the caffeine but your doggy treasure was a bigger jolt. Blech!

Fly- just incase you missed the other thread - HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Kas- I love love your pics. I'm not sure where you are but they are stunning. Keep em comin!
Sugar- I agree with Shue, your posts sound upbeat. Sobriety suits you.

Hi to all that drop in later. I'm off to work then have a handy man that is supposed show later to fix a
few things. I haven't ever had one show on time but I'm always optimistic.

Monday is done and dusted here. Weekend was not too good, on the outside it was great, but I had serious AL thoughts all weekend and kind of imploded last night. Dont worry, no AL was touched (thanks to Antabuse) and am feeling much better today. Who would have thought I would have these types of thoughts 6 weeks in!

Sunny GG - I have suggested to my daughter on a couple of occasions that she would get the horses cleaner with a pressure washer LOL. No snow here, but we get mud..glorious mud..

Lav - Have the chooks layed any, or are they on revolt???

Fly - congrates on the 30days - Way to Go!!!

Kas - where are you ?? the pics are beautiful

Good morning, Shue, Almost and M2--and all others headed our way today!
Fly--CONGRATS on thirty days! Really big milestone!
Shue, oh, that stinky stuff they roll in! Am expecting some of that myself now that the snow is gone and all kinds of nasty things are exposed. I once read something that claimes this is like perfume for dogs. Don't really get it, but. . .Sunni's horses probably believe that, too!
Have to head over to AA weekly, as I haven't bee there for a few days. I was really sad on Saturday when I saw a member of my noon group drunk. Saw him twice, and second time he was coming out of the market with some alcoholic beverages in his cart. Another AA guy was driving him. It made me remember how rotten it felt to give in and drink and just feel like throwing in the towel because I just knew I'd never "get it." I really like this guy, have seen his struggle, and joked about him being two weeks ahead of me in sobriety. am wondering if he'll be at the meeting today.
I was going to post last night, but had been up in the attic looking for some things and found a folder I had thought I'd thrown away a few years ago. A whole five years of discipline reports for my last teaching job--from 1993 to 1998. I had the first belly laugh I have had in ages--hubby even heard me out in the family room. I am going to keep these right here in my desk so I can get that laugh any time I need it. Boy, I was feisty and gave those monkeys a run for their money!! Too bad the administrators were wimps and let the kids roll all over them! Speaking of monkeys, one of my favorites was a boy who asked me "Have you ever fucked a monkey?" while i was on the much dreaded cafeteria duty! I remember even know wanting so badly to say that I had no recollection of fucking HIM, but perhaps it had happened!:H:H Talk about a disfunctional school!!!
Sunlight is beautiful this a.m. Reached 80 in a few parts of the state yesterday. I bought a few nice things at a huge discount at April Cornell--love her clothes! Also lots of chocolate for my strawberries and cake pops, and Yankee Candle plug ins.
Have coffee/set up at AA today and a women's meeting at 4:00. Hoping to get outside for a while this afternoon, too!

Thanks for the coffee, Shue! And my Irish Potatoes, as Lav knows, are not potatoes at all! they are confectioners sugar, shredded coconut and a little cream, then formed into balls. You can roll them in cinammon or chocolate. Sugar, you missed this trat yesterday!!!

Well thank god Shue is back in gear with the coffee and I love the horror movie, poor Lav has alot on her conscience!

Now this is just a quick check in to send groovy vibes to you all for the day, bank holiday over here today, a real Spring day.
So ya in sugarland, I'm having loads of aha moments about me and life over the last day or 2 and would love to share them later if I get a chance. I have to buzz off for a bit to help my Mam out and hit a meeting at 1 but I shall be back later with my ramblings.

Hi Monday Marchers!

Thanks for the Joe this AM Shue...yep, you predicted correctly, it's a great morning to a good cup of coffee (or 3!).

Weekend was great and flew by! I had a glorious St. Patty's Day (sober for a change!). Not to say I didn't stuggle a wee bit in the afternoon since it seemed like EVERYONE on earth was drinking except for me. BUT, I kept saying to myself that I didn't need it and if it were any other day, I wouldn't even want it. We took a lovely walk on the beach with the dog as planned, had our seafood dinner as planned and then rented a DVD and I enjoyed going to bed Sat. night SOBER! Yay! So proud of myself. Why does St. Patty's Day have to be such an excuse for everyone to drink? I ran into a friend at work who said she took the train back from Boston on Sat. night after seeing a play in town and the whole train was full of drunks and stank of whiskey. No thanks! Boston is a huge Irish town but why do people take it to this level? Sigh. Anyway, glad to not be a part of that. Hubby drank on St. Patty's Day and I think that made it a bit harder on me than if I was with a non AL drinker, but I am not going to preach to him as I think that he has it under control. But what worries me, is that after reading the Vale book, AL is a progressive disease and no one is really in control, even those who "think" they are moderate drinkers. Interesting. I still think, in the end, hubs will drink less as I abstain. Let's hope.

To everyone, I hope you have a fabulous Monday! Congrats to FLY for 30 days! GUESS WHAT? I am almost at my 30 days on Thursday!!! Can't believe it! Thank you guys for all of your support!
