Good glorious morning, fabbies,

I am full of the joys of spring (and snot too but nevermind). Felling a bit better, too lazy to go into work, especially when I can do my emails from my sun lounger, listening to the newly returned swallows. They are driving my kittens insane !!!

I made Sumatran coffee for you , for a change and the usual decaf for Sugar. When Blondie gets back here I might break out the Jamaican Blue Mountain again. Where is she, BTW?

As Almost is looking for a wife … made me think of hubby a few years ago … Our son was not 2 yet, my mom was staying with me so she had him out in the park all day, the nanny got the house spotless clean, I came back from work early and cooked an amazing seafood dinner. As hubby came back from work I greeted him with a glass of white, all smiles and in a good mood, son was very cheerfull too and not fussy at all, house looked splendid with everything tucked away and the patio table was laid with the good stuff, flowers and candles – the works . After dining on prawns, mussles and octopus he says “Honey, everything is fantastic, you, our son, the house, this dinner” … I told him it only took 3 women working all day to get to this … He says “ Now I understand polygamy” .

Wishing you a fab fab Friday !!!!

Morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Shue and LOL, your hubbie is quite sharp. And good on you for being lazy for once.:l

Well, my heart is still sore and I'm still not sure if I'm breaking up or not but I'm trying not to let it become the focus of my life, otherwise there is no way I will remain sober. And remain sober I will. :)

My absolute top of the list pet peeve is when people don't use paragraphs. And lots of them. So I added a not so nice joke to the jokes section. Its a bit crass though because its by 'The Oatmeal, so don't bother checking it if that's not your cup of tea.

My the Forth be with you (its International Star Wars Day)

Ohhh – sore heart Dizzy, there is no cure for heartbreak … but distraction works. I’ll try to post later some pics of my patchy lawn on your great gardening thread. On second thought - maybe pics of the tennis pros would work better?

OMG, sunni – your garden is something else - quite lovely!!!

TND – I love your work reports, sounds like you are enjoying it! How are the three stooges?

Pap – could you please pass the DD to the next police car, where it belongs …

Sugar – I just relish you posts these days, talk about turning a corner!!!

Kas - get that kayak out! And camera ...

Mo3 – I looked once more at your avatar picture, running and I said that’s it !!! I put my trainers on and once I fire this post I am going to christen our new treadmill … I’ll be gentle…

Lav – son has got tennis today … another chance to check out the “spring chickens”

LVT – I adored that sequence with the sky !!! Astonishing!

Sausage – 70 day plus! You are smoking!

Good morning Shue, Dizzy, Green and all the rest,

Shue, love your hubs comment! I always joke to DH that I need a wife. I'm waiting for him to respond sometime "yeah, me too!" I think he knows betta.

Dizzy, take some time away. Oddly enough things have a way of working themselves out. Oh, and now you have me paranoid about paragraphs! Lol!

Good morning Greeneyes! Well, since your avatar only shows one eye, I'll start calling you Greeneye. Lol!
I'm off and running (well, walking actually) today. We have 2 showings set up so far so Mrs. Clean is on the scene. Grocery shopping might be nice too, since Old Mother Hubbard is looking like she invaded the place.
Later gators...

Good morning FABbalicious Friday Frolickers!

I was wondering why someone would post in last Friday's thread.... oops. It's Friday again!?? Damn. I need at least 5 more hours in a day and an extra day per week would be splendid. Who do I talk to about that?

(Note: New paragraph) :H
Shue... Thank you for the brew and I got a feeling that your hubs has his hands full with just you. Surely, he wouldn't be able to handle 3 women ;)

Dizzy... I'm sorry things are so tough for you at the moment. But you are better equipped to deal with all of that, now that you're sober. :l

Almost... Glad your hubs knows when to remain silent :H Good luck with the showings today!

Hello Green arse :hallo: Btw... did you say where your vacation was taking place?

Bizzy day here today... waiting for call from farrier so the darling critters can have their pedicure done, home stretch for the project due today and if it stops raining I may even get out to grub in the dirt for a little while :)

Happy Friday 'n all that jazz and one thing is for sure!

That would be me, queen of the universe :crowned: and since I feel the same way, I'm working on it!

Leave tomorrow. Work today, haven't packed. Typical. Went to nursing home to visit my dad last night instead of packing - he was quite insistent. And it was one of those ultra sour mood days. I guess he just wanted to unload some on me. For a couple years now I've worked on learning how to not take on his stuff. It sure was nice to walk out of there feeling as light as I did when I walked in. Other people's stuff is heavy. ;) So is mine, but no sense adding to it, ya know?

LVT your view is sure enviable! I had to have some trees taken down this week and I feel even more "neighborhoody". One day I'll live in the woods on a river. As kas's permanent uninvited guest. :H:H

If DG hasnt' checked in by the time I get back I may head up a posse. I hope things are OK with her parents. I cant' seem to get that off my mind.

Diz, didn't read the joke yet but your last one liner was brill!

8:00 two things for sure.

Thanks guys :) I will distract myself and spend some nice time with friends over the weekend. Not boozing time, have organized an '80's movies night' for Saturday where we will all lounge on the couch with blankets and popcorn and chocolate and a nice big open fire. Its winter here and open fires are legal too, in case you were wondering. Well, one or two may have wine but it won't be a trigger as it wouldve been with the original suggestion of a barbeque.

Sorry Almost. I guess my next photo isn't going to help either, its called Please don't hurt my mom. My dad makes these Wildlife cards and I am now helping him get donations and marketing by adding R2.50 on top of whatever he wants to ask and then donating that money to the International Rhino Fund. Its a big issue here in SA, people killing Rhinos because there is such a huge demand because men still believe that drinking rhino horn will make them horny. Whats wrong with Viagra??? :durn:

Anyway, this is just one of the little initiatives I have had time for since I quit drinking, except for the weekend blip. I almost toppled again this morning but I stood firm and said, you know what, bf sent you that email to hurt you, and you being sober is the best way of remaining the person in control of this argument. So, I don't know how its going to pan out but I won't resolve to his tearful middle of the night drunken emails and texts. So take that, Mr Hyde! :)

http://soutie.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/rhino.jpg?w=800&h=522

This is not one of my dad's photos or cards, by the way, and if anyone has this picture in a better resolution, I would be much obliged.

Sausage, I edited this to say thank you for using that extra paragraph. I can't remember if you usually use less paragraphs but every new one makes my heart sing. :)

Hi everyone

Well today is day 71 and these last couple of weeks I really feel I'm thinking more clearly. I was always a glass half empty person and a worrier, but I feel positive now and much more able to sort the things I can change from the things I can't. It must be quitting the booze.

Dizzy, ( note new paragraph!) I realise your mind is in turmoil at the moment and it can't be easy but trust me when I say the more days / weeks you get under your belt AF the clearer you will think and be able to come to the right decision in your mind - whatever that may be. We just x posted but I've just edited this to say I love that photo.

Shue, your hubby's comment about polygamy did make me laugh. For the last couple of days I've been meaning to comment on the conversation you had with him about drinking ( but have been v busy and just didn't get round to it). He sounds exactly like my husband, he too thought I was all or nothing and completely over reacting about my problem, and that quitting totally was a bit drastic and I should just moderate. he just didn't get it that I can't moderate. So I can really relate to your situation with him there. I've stopped trying to reason with my husband, we just don't discuss it and I just don't drink. I just don't want to go there in the conversation because I'm sure he'll try and convince me to try and moderate and I just know I can't and it just leads to more arguments.

Well hi to everyone else, hope you have a great AF Friday. I must go and clean my kitchen. I'll drop by later.

Good morning Abbers,

I'd like to say I could use a few wives around here as well or at least YBs that actually do some yard work :H :H

Nothing wrong with working from home Shue ;)
Glad you are feeling better today!

Dizzy, your focus does need to be your sobriety now. Shield yourself against the BF's BS.
Terrific rhino pic!

Greenie, I'm not sure where you are going but I wish you a safe trip & an enjoyable time ;)

Greetings Almost, Sunni & Sausage!

I've been waiting for the morning aches & pains to subside a little - not sure why they are so bad this week although it has been pretty damp out. Think I'm ready to hop in the car & get myself to Curves.

Have a great AF Friday!

And meeeeeeeeeeeee. :)

Saw Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011) - IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1441952/) at the movies tonight, very uplifting story, all about making it against all the odds. I would highly recommend it if you want to see something good. I suppose its not for everyone as it counts as a bit of an arty movie but I would only say thats because its not a 'blockbuster' in that it does not have huge action scenes, sex scenes, etc in it. I hate blockbusters anyway. There is almost NO drinking or smoking in it, sometimes it can really bug me if I'm newly sober and all the people in the movie do is drink and smoke! ;)

Lav I'm going to my father's timshare thing that I do every year with the friend and we ride our bikes around nature preserves and do adventure kinds of stuff. I might do an ultralight glider someting another ride this go around.

Watering the garden, a humming bird came so close and hovered by my head - I could feel the breeze from his wings on my cheek. Very cool.

PACK greenie!!!! PACK!!

Greenie - you will have a most fabulous time....but we will miss you!

Wishing a wonderful weekend to Abbers not so near and even farther....

I really do look forward to getting so much done in these two days. I have the time and energy to tackle the world...now that I am free of that heinous addiction.

Okay...cleaning is called for. Sober cleaning. lol. My drunk cleaning was just ca-razy.
