Right folks time to go ..so have a great day

I was watching the New Avengers Assemble movie when my wife asked, "What superpower would you have if you could have any?"

    "Invisibility," I replied.

"I'm intrigued," she went on. "What would you do if you were invisible?"

"Sit here and watch the TV in peace," I replied.

    I went into a pharmacy.

I said, "Have you got anything for irritation?"

She said, "Yes... But where exactly?"

"Fck knows! You tell me, it's your shop," I replied.

Guess what I got asked at the hairdresser's earlier.

    Fecking everything.

I'm writing a book about introverts.

It's not coming out any time soon.

There's nothing worse than waking up cold in the morning.

Apart from not waking up, cold in the morning.

I work for a really crap advertising company.

You probably haven't heard of us.

Two aliens landed in the Arizona desert near a gas station that was closed for the night.

They approached one of the gas pumps and the younger alien addressed it saying, 'Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader.'

The gas pump, of course, didn't respond.
The younger alien became angry at the lack of response.

The older alien said, 'I'd calm down if I were you.'

The younger alien ignored the warning and repeated his greeting.

    Again, there was no response.

Annoyed by what he perceived to be the pump's haughty attitude, he drew his ray gun and said impatiently, 'Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Do not ignore us this way! Take us to your leader or I will fire!'

The older alien again warned his comrade saying, 'You probably don't want to do that! I really don't think you should make him mad.'

'Rubbish,' replied the cocky, young alien. He aimed his weapon at the pump and opened fire.

There was a huge explosion. A massive fireball roared towards them and blew the younger alien off his feet and deposited him a burnt, smoking mess about 200 yards away in a cactus patch.

    Half an hour passed.

When he finally regained consciousness, he refocused his three eyes, straightened his bent antenna, and looked dazedly at the older, wiser alien who was standing over him shaking his big, green head.

'What a ferocious creature!' exclaimed the young, fried alien. 'He damn near killed me! How did you know he was so dangerous?'

The older alien leaned over, placed a friendly feeler on his crispy friend and replied, 'If there's one thing I've learned during my intergalactic travels, you don't want to mess with a guy who can wrap his d.ck around himself twice and then stick it in his ear.

Cool looking tomato I'm imagining it just tastes like a regular one? I actually have a rogue tomato plant in my"garden" its huge but is just barely starting to flower so I don't think we'll see anything,do tomato plants come back every year or do I hafta plant again next year? Cats won't stay out of my houseplants so now that hobby sucks too!came home to a broken one today,Mick is ok,he's lazy like a cat should be, its the female that pisses me off!

I know this will be my last check in for a few days......this whole new i-phone is creating quit a buzz

I totally undestand Mick. I remember in 2008 when people got laid off.....several walked out saying that "you have no idea how much work I do"....guess what....they did not care....and just reassigned her work to someone else, who is now over worked....but, they never collapsed or "called her back".

Someone told me once....be careful about loving your job, because it doesn't love you back. Who doesn't understand that in this day of age?

Once my Mom was faced with an asshole boss....who let her know that she was replaceable....she looked the asshole in the eye and said....."well, as I understand it the President of the United States is replaceable".....(which means you too

Bear.....I think that taking care of yourself is very important. I would not stop that. However.....if you are "getting a massage"----due to work stress---""then you would have to detract that from your net income" But, this may be something you want to continue if your job disappeared tomorrow. So you have to weigh it. I knew when I was actually jealous of the "Grocery Check Out Gal"....I was in serious trouble.

There is a great book on simplifying your life. It is one that I have had for years.....but, each year I have been implementing parts of it. Just last week I pulled it down....and realized...."done.....did it"

BTW...60 hours is not unreasonable to me. I literally have no drive time....I have no "get beatifull time"....and I don't work off the clock ever. Pretty good to me for now. After the first of the year....I have considered going "part-time".....maybe sooner....but, those people are still working 40 hours a week. So we shall see.

We are debt free----except for the house and a car payment.
but, there are still things like heat, air, insurance......that make sure ypu are never "free of money". But, I am glad to be debt free in other aspects.

I love the simple life. In the end.....I lived a very complicated life......now I live a simple one. I love simple. I don't need "big vacations"....just simple ones that give us as much joy.

                  Hey - that's a good philosophy SF
I'm liking the simpler life too, lots less stress - works for me.

Pauly, we always have 'volunteer' tomato plants popping up in the garden primarily because they can reseed themselves. You are supposed to put new plants in every year, ha ha.

Mick, we've grown lots of weird looking tomatoes over the years. I like red ones, ha ha!!

PQ, I sure hope you get some positive news about your eye, goodness!

The day was good, got a few things done. I may be watching one kid in the morning, depends on what time my son gets home from work ~ or something like that, LOL

                  Peace to everyone!

Hey SF thanks for all the posts about simplifying life,I think I do all sorts of things to avoid and distract from negative feelings - and am getting used to feeling them and the fact that they will fade.

What was the book on simplifying life btw, sounds interesting?
