another sultry day here in Bedrock. thanks for the early morning brew, Mick. I don't see any lady bugs with matches!! Yep, doin fine, just getting stuff done. Soils and surveys and work around here. The trick now is to find a piece of shade to get out of the sun but I have a feeling that's not happening today. It all looks pretty open where we are working. First set up will be in the medium of a highway so there'll be a some wind action!

Lav, I was mowing the other day and almost diced up my resident blacksnake. He/she is still in one piece though. Kinda startled me, which is the thing about snakes. Now when I go into the henhouse, I look around before I put my hand down to grab eggs!

Morning Mick and All, No sunshine around these parts this morning, as weather pattern has finally changed bringing much needed rain.

A caravan of volunteers is getting underway to travel hundreds of miles to a pick up location designated by the local law enforcement. Pups will be loaded up two-by-two into crates for safe transport. Bit of a Noah's Ark visual, except that no procreation is intended. In fact, spay/neuter will be one of the first needs met for these four-legged refugees. They'll stay with foster families while being assessed and vetted, then will become available for adoption. For now, I'm only peripherally involved, but hope to meet them this evening when they arrive.

Sorry Mick, I didn't explain it well.

Cut a small portion of duct tape to cover the wart and replace it every 2-3 days until it falls off. Should be 10-14 days. Also, some use liquid bandage to cover the wart, depriving it of air with the same results.

Mick...thanks for starting us off before heading out detecting. I knew the "Casino" thing would throw you. All casinos in Alberta need to use a nonprofit volunteer group to operate. We work a casino every 18 months and share in the profits for the year. It usually brings in about $60K and there are strict rules regarding what we can spend it on. Can't pay wages but can be used to maintain/upgrade facility. Good luck with your adventure today and hope you can find some answers for you feet.

Pi...it must be so rewarding to see all those pups rescued. In answer to your question boss does not need to work to cover medical insurance. His wife retired from a government position and her benefits cover him. He has cancelled all his extended insurance.

Picked up a shift in my new department today....much better fit for me. I think the boss lady is going to release me to the new department in two weeks.

PPQ--I remember for a long time the churches were the only ones who could hold the Casino events. That was in Ohio....not in TN though.
