I can't remove the "new mention" popup

Hi, I am having problems removing this thread and it is blocking an area where I need to submit. I have gone to Settings then turned off but no luck.

Is this the new notification message in the dropdown box under notifications in the top line of the page, a browser pop up in the bottom right hand corner of your page or text in the editor box, where you would post your reply?

Or something else?

It was a pop up mention in the bottom right corner. However, when it came up today on another site it had an "X" so I was able to close it. Thank you.
