    Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Here is a link to the recipe, QW. She has a complete book of instant pot recipes and I've tried a couple of the other recipes and have liked them. But the butter chicken is Mr. D's favorite and mine as well. Yes Mr. D is the one who led the way on the electric pressure cooker. He also used it to can green beans which is the real reason he bought it begin with. We found the old fashioned pressure cooker took too much time and attention. The electric one made the process much easier, altho it didn't hold as much.

Do you have a stick blender? I use mine in this recipe and highly recommend getting one if you don't already have one. I love mine!

I guess never say never lol. I’m typing this as I go back and forth in the combine! Seems the only way to get the canola to go through is at night when it’s frozen hard lol. And with close to a million dollars of canola still in the field, we’ll combine however we can!

Sounds like your recovery is coming along nicely @Jude58, it’s amazing how fast the weeks go by!

They figure it’ll take a week to replace the chimney @Mr Vervill? It must be a major undertaking!

I’ve never used a pressure cooker @dill and @Quit wining, but I am researching crock pot recipes as I don’t feel like cooking when I get home from work. lol

We do lead by example @Slo, and as @dill said, we have to be careful not to lead by bad example. I still have a few bad habits that I’m sure others see in me, but I’m working on them and hopefully people will eventually want what I have become.

I really enjoy seeing your pictures from the harvesting Cowboy. I hope the cab is heated! And crock pot is my preferred mode of cooking these days. I too enjoy dinner being ready at the end of the day. I don't know if you like Indian food, but here is a crock pot version of the Butter Chicken:

Slow Cooker Butter Chicken + Video – TwoSleevers

Slo, I really like today's quote. It really gives perspective. I often think about the person I want to be and realize that it is continuous effort to become that ideal. To be the person you want to be in the future you have to start today and keep up the effort! That's not only true for recovering addicts/alkies. That's true for everyone. No one is perfect so there will be set backs, but the effort must continue.

I had a farmer friend stop by with a bag of turnips he wanted to share. So I was looking for some kind of turnip recipe and found one that had chickpeas, onions, tomatoes, dried apricots and was done in the crockpot. I used it as a template, but made various changes that I thought we would prefer and boy was it a hit with Mr. D. It was supposed to be vegetarian but Mr. D lobbied for the addition of some pork we had leftover from two nights ago. It turned out to be a really good addition tho so I gave him due credit. One reason I like to cook in the crock pot (and this is a very big reason) is because cooking in the afternoon went hand-in-hand with the opening of a bottle of wine. Cooking in the morning avoids that temptation but yesterday, even tho it was early in the day, I was surprised by a visit the beast, reminding me of how I used to enjoy that late afternoon drink.... I pushed the thoughts aside and distracted myself with an audio book I'm in the middle of listening to....

24 more for me and all my friends, as Pauly says!
