    It sounds to me like your fall festivals are a lot like our fowl or perogy suppers? Every year starting mid October all the little community halls and churches have their yearly fund-raising suppers, some with dances included. We used to attend a few of them but now that we're in Vegreville we don't get out to them anymore. We do try to get to the Ukrainian Catholic Church's perogy supper that they have the last Wednesday of each month though.

    Ginger, I forgot to answer your question about the Fresh water shrimp. They are not crawdads. They are "prawn".
    When we visit my daughter in New Orleans, crawfish is usually on our menu at least once. But I don't know of anyplace around here that has cawfish.

    Happy Monday Cafe! Dill, I love funnel cakes too until I went to our local town festival and they were $18.00 each!! That is crazy. I refused to pay that so I guess I saved myself extra calories! We spent the entire day at the beach yesterday with our books and packed lunch. The gulf was super warm and we just floated on our blow up floats. Heaven for sure! No booze in our cooler! I’m trying to wrap my head around the new bathing suit trend of exposed butts. People walk around with wedgies. Ugh. It certainly gives you something to look at! Lol. 24 more please.

    I've done one of these in Vancouver before, very good. Of course at the time, we washed them down with shots of spiced Khortytsa. Not anymore.
