Bird - so glad you are safe. I've been worried about you. Is there any damage around you? I had never heard of a hurricane party and

Liz - how are you doing? How are you doing? Are you hanging in there? So much has happened in the past year, I'm sure that you just are tired sometimes.
Have you had any more of the 'alcohol' thoughts since you mentioned it here. I just want you to know to please talk about it when it happens. I had a doozy of a craving out of the clear blue the other day. Here & gone but it still surprised me by how strong it was.

Rusty - are you home now? Did you get any of the bad weather?

Pauly - You have the cutest grandsons. I'm going to see Savannah on Saturday. Yahoo! They are coming over to stay with my Mom while we go out for awhile (I'm not going to want to leave her!). I didn't get in the hot tub tonight. And I was so looking forward to it. But, hubby hadn't turned on the heater in time and it was only 98. With the breeze that was not warm enough for me. I needed that extra 2 degrees. Ha, ha.

Glassie - sending you healing thoughts.

Hi Pauly - no I have't talked to K9 for years. Hope she's happy.

I stayed home today. Woke up and felt really sick to my stomach. I went back to sleep for a couple hours and it had passed, thank goodness. So, I was able to soak in the hot tub for a bit earlier. Might as well enjoy myself since I called in sick. LOL

      Hi all,
Yay, internet back on. There was some damage here, but not too bad, it was bad where I moved from, glad I moved. I was scared while it went through and lights went out but only about 12 hours. The pool was full of leaves so I got those out and then it got chilly last night(finally) so glad for that. I made the cats tay in while the hurricane went through and they really wanted out haha. They like to watch the rain....made some chili today. A nice day, so thankful everything here is intact...oh Liz, I don"t
have a generator....Nora, hope you had a good day in the tub...Pauly, I hate those drinking thoughts, so hard to get through...b

Yeah! Glad there wasn't too much damage Bird scary that the old area had more damage,I was reading my fitness site today and someone has mentioned going to Walmart before the storm hit for a "hurricane beer run" it made me laugh cuz it just sounds so silly! I guess those storm parties are a thing,Nora, sorry you weren't feeling too good glad it seems to have passed, excuse my spellcheck in my post this morning, yikes I need to read before I post, went to Ulta today and they offered me a credit card with them,,,,I blame Romeo for signing me up! It's the last thing I need cuz I adore makeup and can do some serious shopping with that card grrr but oh well yolo!!

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2018

The hot tub was wonderful this morning but starting to get cloudy. We (meaning hubby) are working aggressively to make the water sparkling again. He has a spa kit and is testing the water and putting chemicals in. We have new filters on the way but have cleaned those. I think it's going to be changing the filters quite often. Moral of the story, expect a whole lot of work to go along with your $400 hot tub. I wonder how much work bigger ones are.

Pauly - Romeo knew that Grandma liked that store so he wanted to help you by making you sign up for the credit card. LOL

I wonder how poor Glassie is feeling. I'm seriously worried about her.

Pauly, my dd1 loves Ulta and makeup....Nora, the tubs I saw at the fair were really high, like thousands..I am worried about Glassie too. Hope you have been to the doc Glassie.....I have been hanging some pics of the kids up. It kinda made me want to drink. So, I have raised my kids, what do I do now? I'm sure it will become clear to me in time...I'm really sleepy but it is to early to go to bed. I don't want to wake up at 4 a.m. hahaha......so there is this giant peanut beside the interstate. It has a crown, anyway it has been there forever. Well the hurricane blew it down and everyone is sad.

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2018

@Nora, so sweet of you to ask how I'm doing. I'm ok, really. I'm still thinking about the drink, not so much that I will drink but if I can really stay quit. Does that make sense? It's been a long time since I've had al, and you're right I have been through the most difficult year of my life. I don't know how other than your support here and the grace of God. Just keep plugging along. A part of me thinks all that drinking was because I was so afraid of bad things happening, now that they have happened, well, the earth is still rotating. @bird, I'm so glad you're ok. When hurricane/superstorm Sandy hit here, I was drinking and slept through the entire actual storm. When I think of what could have happened while I was passed out. Stupid. @Pauly, I agree those pictures of the storm damage are scary. It's gonna take a long time to clean up and get back to some type of normal. poor Romeo has to take the credit for the credit card, lol. It would be a problem for me too, for sure. My coworker went to a makeup counter for a makeover for a wedding last Saturday and ended up buying all the products they used on her, lol.
RUsty, GLassie, hope you're both doing ok. Rusty, I thought you were only going to do 2 hours of paperwork today. How did that work out for you?
I worked till five today, had dinner quick and talked on the phone to first Mark and then Erin. I was telling my mom I talk more to the kids now that they don't live here anymore. I love it. Mark is doing well in England. He had no idea about the royal wedding today. His coworkers told him that Americans pay more attention to the royals then they do, lol.
Tomorrow after work we are heading down the shore. Probably be home late, so if I don't post, don't worry about me. I'm going to a Biergarten, of all places! Gonna have some wienerschnitzel and spätzle! Have a great Saturday!
