Give one good thing about drinking ..... a very short thead I suspect.

One of the good things about drinking .....

Something struck me as funny yesterday when contemplating an upcoming wedding & what to wear , hair etc.
Remembering when after a few drinks I'd look in the mirror and think - "yeah lookin' good Satz "
I was a brilliant dancer too...
The reality was sweaty head, too much blusher & lipstick and the pulling in of tummy forgotten about
Also alcohol killed the pain of too tight shoes & underwear ....
BUT I thought I was gorgeous ..... plus everyone else looked gorgeous when I had my beer goggles on so I was happy for thos efew hours in my bubble..

What is your 'good' thing ?

Well, don't you know drinking fine red wine made me sophisticated and witty, @satz123

My one good thing about drinking was forgetting my problems. the problem is i had to drink everyday to keep forgetting them again and again and again.

I was smart witty and knew everything. There's even a beer over here in the states named for it;ci-stone-oaked-arrogant-bastard-ale-980a9197da536030.jpeg

    I have two:
    1. Intelligence. Alcohol made me 33.3% smarter than when sober.
    2. Amnesia. Best that I didn't remember all the dumb shit that I did.

One good thing about drinking - it caused me to finally understand that regularly being wasted and searching for an alternate reality where i didn't have to do anything and where i was king, was ultimately fkn boring and a criminal waste of my short precious time on earth.

I discovered that reality, people, and the moment is where the real magic and treasure is. And it's free. Minimal side effects.

I loved the craic with everyone as we went from sober, to merry to ridiculous, and I miss being out of it now.. What I didn't like was being constantly on edge about getting a sly drink in or trying not to be the one to finish first, top up the wine, always focused on that bloody bottle...

I also loved that first drink at home, alone, in the evening. I hated the way it was gone so quickly, the bottle of wine too, seriously, I used to think they were selling me duds..
