Bridget I love the mini greenhouse! Wonder if I can get hubs to fix one up for me cuz growing in Vegas heat and the horrible soil is hit or miss, had amazing tomatoes a few years back and haven't had any success with anything again Mary, feel better I have a cold yet again and the morning feels like a hangover-not pleasant! We give our dog melatonin when the fireworks go on,I don't mind them on fourth of July it's the people who let them off all month long that piss me off, waves to all
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"

Off the table no MATTER what.

      Re: November 2019: International Army

Evening all! Oh I loved my greenhouse Bridge.. unfortunately it got shattered in a storm and I never replaced it.. when I do retire that will be a joy to me I know - all that gardening just waiting for me... used to love it. Howdy everyone else. Decided to take the day off - unapologetically pulled a sickie -- self care I think it's called. In answer to your question a couple of days ago Rusters - this is a new situation at work - and it's making me feel really angry -- with everything in my life - just this one woman who is literally pressing every button I possess - she sits around all day at work and I find myself not only doing my work but hers as well. She is totally self absorbed (says me whinging on here daily!!! oh the irony!!) and dis-interested in everyone else. and that's only the start... I am truly angry and it's gutting me - so fuck them - I'm at home on the couch - but I have to rethink something in my life or something IS going to give... thank you for letting me rant

It's such an awful day out today it's lovely -- the leaves all falling down and the rain and wind - and the fire lighting -- it's smashing -- oh and the bannisters are FINISHED!!!!

      Re: November 2019: International Army

Night everyone. Horrible horrible day here but like you Molly, big fire and got lots of crochet done. The colours are spectacular outside. Hope you enjoyed your day off, it’s such a shame having to work with someone like that. Welcome back Mary, hope you had a ball. How was IKEA JC? Don’t mind it if I have loads of time but can be stressful too. Good idea about the garden. Waiting until spring and going to do the same thing. What part of the world are you in Jude? Guessing Canada?

Love the greenhouse Bridget. We have the remains of one, like Molly‘s got damaged in a storm. Going west tomorrow night, just the one night but nice to get away.

Think Jude is New York and we just missed the snow apparently. My kids will be very upset
We had a great week there Starty. Stayed with my brother so the cousins had loads of time together.

Rant away Molly and dont let her get to you. Can you move to a different area or have you any options?
Disaster @starty! Might there be any (small ego) people looking to job share?

Ramping up at my place too. Unions have issued strike notice, its going to get worse before it gets better. Or just worse.

Im am very impressed with your greenhouse Bridge, and your tomato crop Pauly! although you hardly need a greenhouse in Las Vegas!

      Re: November 2019: International Army

      Evening all,
Pauly the green house was as cheap as anything at Bunnings, which I think is like your Home Depot. It's under a tree because direct light here would fry them as well. You could just start some seeds inside then transfer to a pot or raised bed outside. Even if you don't get much of a crop it's a pleasant thing to do.

I really feel for you Molly. We spend a LOT of our life at work and if you are working with arseholes that's a long time to spend with them. There is no way I would be doing the cow's work for her as well.

Sounds like New York was a success Mary. Do the kids all have American accents now?

I can't stand fireworks either Jude. Especially the waste they are.

Dinner then back. Dog is protesting.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

      Morning from up over land.

@IamMary...........meant to say welcome home the other day. We were lucky when we were over the pond the exchange rate was $2 to the pound. Felt like we were millionaires. How's the jet lag.........weird is the only way I can describe mine. It took me ages to get over it.

@mollyka........you can't be dealing with stress like that. How's the thought of a diary of your woman's behaviour then show it to the big boss. You sound so tired, pet, it can't be good for you.

      Waves to all .
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I found jet lag just escalated something dreadful once I hit about 40... shockin this old age lark ;-)

Jackie - thank you - and these will be my last words on the subject because everyone will go back on the grog with the boredom of my work woes otherwise
As regards R's behaviour - she can behave any way she wants (and she knows it) because she has hearing difficulties -- well in truth - imo she has no hearing difficulties cos she has implants in her ears that make her hear a pin drop.. but yeah technically she has a disability - so anything I would say or do would be discriminatory - I am muzzled.. and as regards the big boss -- our management are horrible - they are small minded self important fucking twats... they have a Sword of Damocles they can hold over our heads at all times in that we can be transferred to any branch in the system - I could be back to driving 3-4 hours a day by Monday if I so much as open my mouth... so yeah - I'm trapped.. and for the first time in my working life I'm starting to look at the 4 years I still have to do till retirement.. and that's sad - cos I've always loved working.. and now - that's it - I'm NOT going to be self-pitying anymore... and Jackie -- thank you -- thank you for those kind words - they meant a lot

      Re: November 2019: International Army

@mollyka..........another rock and a hard place situation
Actually with me having ear trumpets (that I only wear occasionally) and early COPD made me think can I claim anything........no, not life limiting enough............... but I could get cheap bus/train fares all depending on the our local authority. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Kitchen man turned up spot on time...... done and dusted within half an hour. Even had time to look at his wedding photos from August.
Then the blind man, got one picked and getting fitted next Friday.
House to myself since 10 am.

How awful her life must be for her to choose to act the way she does. I think about Trump this way - his life must be literally a living hell for him to be so insecure, vicious, deluded, and cruel. It doesn't make how people like that act ok (and we still have to live with the consequences) but it somehow helps me to get some distance and realize that given what they know and their life experiences, what they are doing and saying makes sense to them. I can't accept or forgive much of what Trump does but I feel some empathy for a horribly twisted human desperately and unsuccessfully trying to feel ok. It must be awful to be him.

I'm sorry you have to have such frequent contact with a person like that. It would be really draining.

      Hi,

Want to pipe in with this - rant away, Molly! Expressing anger/sadness/depression etc. in ways other than drinking is part of staying sober IMHO. Noise canceling headphones so you don't have to listen to her not work??

I lived in London for 6 months '89-'90 and still can't give blood because of Mad Cow outbreak during that time. Do you all over there in the UK still have that hanging over your heads as well? Don't know why I think that's relevant here, but there you go.

      Happy Friday.
