HOWDY folks -- wow - had to go searching for the thread!! Hope the spa was super-duper Rusters -- don't like them myself -- hate people 'at' me -- but I'd love to like it if you understand me ;-)

Have all the little darlings coming this evening - it's the eldest grandchild's birthday today so goodies galore! Right must go make my chocolate biscuit cake - yay!

Afternoon Molly and all to come. Had a fab time, it’s more of a wellness center, yoga, meditation, meadow picnics etc. Just had a facial this morning and a walk around. Dinner last night and huge breakfast this morning. Daughter came with me and she worked half day yesterday so we were late enough getting there. Nice to get away and have dinner in a restaurant. Enjoy the birthday party. Waves to everyone else. Need to walk the doggies and there is a gate that needs painting.

Ahhh oh god I'd love that! Absolutely love meditation and yoga stuff...might drop hints to my lot for next Christmas!
Bet you loved the normality in the hotel..I remember last summer the excitement when things opened up...little did we know what was ahead..at least this time it should be for real with the vaccines.

Made the chocolate biscuit cake...looks lovely. The weight is still coming off Joe..at a healthy rate tho ..1-2 kgs a week...I think he should stop soon tho

Thats gas Molly, I made a chocolate biscuit cake yesterday too! youngest has a birthday and theres a gaggle of kids still here in the garden now. Mr M built a room around the side of the house during covid, threw in the old sofa, inherited a telly and got a few beanbags - the kids are almost fighting over it now. Has wifi, hence its popularity.

Rustop, that sounds just fabulous! Im with Molls on the people 'at' me , but I love the rest!

This weekend is apparently going to be roasting. Im not moaning yet.. but seriously Bridge, how do you stick it!!
I was in Darwin for a couple of weeks once and I dont think Ive ever recovered.

    Wheres @JackieClaire?

    Re: Army June 2021

Good morning everyone! Its set to be a scorcher here this weekend too. We are off to the coast for a week which should be a tad cooler and very pleasant. So looking forward to it! Mr S hasnt been too well with a horrible cold and cough that has been keeping us all awake but doesnt feel ill which is a relief. A few days of sea air will do him the world of good.

We went over to a neighbours last night with another couple for nibbles and drinks in her garden. Wine was on offer but out of 5 of us, only one person had ONE glass of wine! I was shocked tbh. It was a real eye opener and very refreshing. All these people are much younger than us and it was a Friday so would have thought they would all be gagging for a drink. Not so and really lovely. In fact the last couple of weeks has been a giddy round of socialising. Seem to have seen more people that I have in a year. Which for a homebod like me has been exhausting

Is Mr M a builder Mary? I am jealous! Mr S although quite handy hates anything DIY. I am currently decorating our hall stairs and landing. Its like painting the fourth bride and taking as long. But done it by myself up ladders on stairs and everything. Just woodwork to finish now.

Rustop your retreat sounds lovely. I havent done anything like that since Oney came over to the UK a couple of years ago. We went to a spa in Bath that has a rooftop swimming pool and had facials and massages which was truly lovely. We stayed in a quirky little B&B run by 2 gay men who had travelled so much when they were younger and had a houseful of interesting bits n bobs. Was lovely and hopefully we can do it again one day if travel gets easier

Both double jabbed now. My doctors forgot to tell me that they no longer were doing the jabs so when I didnt get called back after 12 weeks thought I would give them a bell. Thought it was a bit poor that they didnt tell me as they specifically told me not to call about the 2nd and that they would call me.

Anyhoo. Hope all are well and Joe is feeling better Molls?

Hi Starty...great to see you!! And super re. 2nd jab...world is moving along!!!
Agree with you Mary bout the heat...it's uncomfortable and tiring...would hate to try and function in a hot climate..it's grand for a coupla weeks hols but that's it for me!
Still trying to make decisions here about our post-retirement life...so much to think about..the kids think we're skint I think..but money isn't the problem it's the shagging decisions...trying to balance between being responsible and being totally reckless...Christ...I feel a bit too grown up
    Off to work....talk laters xxx

Edit...sorry just saw you asking bout Joe Starty...he's ok as regards the big things but he's in a lot of pain round his shoulder..they've ruled out anything big so doing a scan next week ..they seem to think it might be trapped nerves...fully fixable so that'd be great!

Good morning everyone. Good to see you Starty. Where’s JC, have not heard from her in a few days.

Fingers crossed that it is trapped nerves Molly. Think a lot of us are going to be facing those type of decisions in the near future. Hubby has decided he is going to get a place down west on the water for his fishing. We looked at something last weekend. Site was fabulous but it did not have planning and they were looking for crazy money. Love it here and don’t know if I would want to sell up and move completely. Lot to think about.
